Commanders coach Ron Rivera said Taylor Heinicke will start in Week 11 against the Texans.
Carson Wentz is still on injured reserve with a finger injury, but Heinicke's play may have earned him the starting gig regardless of Wentz's health. Heinicke is 3-1 as the starter and is coming off a massive upset over the Eagles. He is taking fewer sacks and throwing fewer interceptions per game than Wentz. Facing the Texans and Falcons in his next two matchups, it could be a while before the starting quarterback conversation in Washington is revisited. Heinicke will be a mid-ranger QB2 in Week 11.
