Same for Brian Brohm and Pat White. It's cool that Tebow found a spot in the NFL again, but how come nobody's asking for other guys to be "given a chance?"

And it's true that for a #3 QB (or #4 TE/RB), Tebow is top-notch!

I do think this is the right team to pick up Tebow - at least one coach who believes in him and a media policy that will keep distractions to a minimum. But for Tebow it's not a path to ever being an NFL starter again, unless his passing really has improved.

He deserves to be given another chance because he has done nothing but win... you can say whatever you want, and so what if he has problems passing the ball... As long as he finds ways to win he is good enough to be in the NFL... Even if he becomes less of a QB and more of a FUll back or TE...

12 established backup QBs better than Tebow:

David Carr
Matt Moore
Jason Campbell
Shaun Hill
Tyler Yates
Chad Henne
Matt Cassel
Colt McCoy
Dan Orlovsky
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Kirk Cousins
Seneca Wallace

On the other hand, there are backup QBs who look even worse, like Gradkowski and Whitehurst.

Didn't somebody say they'd straightened out Tebow's footwork? That might help.

You're crazy. I would take Tebow over every one on that list.

I've given it some thought and I don't think he can be a successful quarterback unless he learned to shorten his release and throw the ball with more accuracy. As I said before, he's a good athlete and I think given the right system he could be a hell of an asset on offense. I just don't think it's at quarterback.

That's actually a logical response.

my feeling is he'd be able to work on his mechanics backing up Carvillo in Montreal. Carvillo is an old man, Tebow would walk right into a starting roll there after an injury or his retirement.

Besides, the one guy on the planet who likes Tebow happens to be the guy that drafted him in Denver and is NE's offensive coodinator. That being Josh McDaniel. There is alot of upside here and if he doesn't pan out, Bellecheck won't hesitate to cut him.

No guaranteed money is involved. The Patriots risk nothing to maybe catch lightning in a bottle, a guy who can boost the offense in spots. Or they cut him. I wouldn't be surprised if Belichek did this just to fuck the Jets over, once again. No one hates the Jets more than Belichek, save for maybe Jets fans.

actually Bill loves Tebow too. He's going to get more than a fair shot to stick.

Yea Bengaldoug I agree. I think Bellecheck has alternative motives especially if he can stick it to the Jets. And Zig, that's even better. If Bill and Josh are in your camp, you pretty much have a lock to stick with the team. I am not quite sure why Pats fans and some on this board hate this move but it does have alot of upside for the future with little downside except for may be some locker room chaos which Bellecheck is a master at managing. Again, if it doesn't work out Tebow will return to the ranks of th unemployed!!

he has done nothing but win...

That was true through Week 14 of 2011. After that he basically did nothing but lose.

The playoff win was a bright spot in an otherwise atrocious end to the season - he threw away the division with horrible play but was rescued by the Chargers and the fourth tiebreaker. He still couldn't pass, but now he also couldn't run. Check out his stat lines through his last five games in Denver.

If guys have a weakness, teams figure it out. Reminds me of Carlos Delgado. He burst onto the scene in 1994 and hit 8 HRs in April. Then teams realized he couldn't handle junk and everyone started throwing him junk. He he had one HR in May and was back in the minors by June. By 1996 he had made the adjustment and was in the majors again. Tebow has a weakness, teams adjusted, and until he fixes it he'll never be a starter.

So you guys are saying that you can foresee a situation where they'd take the ball out of Tom Brady's hands and give it to Tim Tebow? What?! Are you serious? I freakin' hate the Patriots but there is no way no how that you would ever take the ball away from Brady. Never!

goal line situation, tebow lines up as h-back, brady passes to gronk, but he drops fall short at the 1, no-huddle, brady splits out wide left, tebow under center, direct snap, touchdown.

what's so difficult about that?

Brady is one of the best in the league at QB sneaks. Tebow doesn't improve on that.

That's actually not so crazy - except he probably hits Gronk for the TD.

If Brady gets hurt doing the sneak, then it matters a lot to them.

hell, Tebow can sneak it in from the 20.

It's part of football. Brady is better at it and stays on the field, tiny risk or not.

People are panicking because he's going to be the 3rd string QB and 3rd string RB/FB/TE

If Brady gets hurt, you have Mallett, who is obviously a good fit for a replacement or QB of the future, but if Brady is hurt, you are just one hard hit away from being out of the game... enter Tebow.

people are making too much out of it, quit crying, he's a good backup, he's made plays out of thin air before, he'll do it again, better for your team than your opponent. just shut up and watch...

I'd rather go to the streets than have Tebow even start one game in a desperate situation.

Not at all. I just prefer my QB be able to throw a football within 10 yards of his intended target.
