I know your pain man. Miami fans were experiencing the same shit with Al Golden and his monlithic scheme that failed to work and allowed 500+ yards every game. Those were some dark years. Fans of opposing fanbases like to bash Miami for that loss to Clemson last season (we loss 58-0). Little do they know that was the best thing to happen as that allowed us to get Richt.
I have never shied away from the much-needed criticism of the empty seats that have always been around in Miami's stadium since the early 2000's. Has it been any better this year?

Oh definitely. Unfortunately I live in Seattle so attending games is a bit hard for me now. But yeah, fans were pretty bad during the Golden tenure. But now that there's renewed optimism with Richt as coach, the two games we've had actually garnered quite a crowd. Nothing like what goes on in Michigan, Baton Rouge, etc... But it's close to 60k which is decent.

Doesn't help the damn stadium is off campus.

Yeah. Unfortunately people don't realize that an on-campus stadium for Miami will never happen.

1) There's absolutely no room for an on-campus stadium. Not even for 40-50k fans.
2) The city of Coral Gables will never approve for a stadium
3) If 1 and 2 could somehow be met, the traffic congestion around the University of Miami is outrageous as is. Adding a stadium into the mix would be god awful.

Besides, the old Orange Bowl is located in Little Havanna (albeit closer to the campus) was still an off campus stadium. The stadium wasn't the reason for Miami's mediocrity - it was the previous admin going cheap on two straight coaching staffs.

Oklahoma - Credit the Sooners for playing tough teams in Houston and Ohio State, but they lost to the Cougars by 10 points and the Buckeyes by 21. The Sooners could still win the Big 12, but would a two-loss team be able to make the playoff without a conference championship game? That’s going to be extremely difficult.

Notre Dame
- Notre Dame gave up 36 unanswered points to Michigan State in South Bend on Saturday. The Irish have to win out to be a two-loss team without the advantage of a conference championship game. The losses to Texas and Michigan State will look better as the season goes on, but the best wins left on the schedule are Stanford and Miami. Would that be enough? Probably not.

Ole Miss -
The Rebels gave up 63 points combined in the second half against Florida State and Alabama in two losses this season. They gave up 20-plus point leads, too. The reward for all this is an undefeated Georgia team next week.

Auburn - The Tigers lost two home games against good teams in Clemson and Texas A&M, and the loser of next week’s game against LSU between Gus Malzahn and Les Miles is going to learn just how hot a seat can get in late September. Auburn quarterbacks have combined for three TD passes in three games. That’s not enough.

USC - The rest of Clay Helton’s first full season at USC is going to be a test. How do you recover from the blowout loss to Alabama and yet another loss to Stanford? USC still could win the Pac-12 championship, but the road to the College Football Playoff seems impossible now.

TEAMS THAT ARE ALMOST OUT:

Florida State - We’ll give a slight disclaimer because they are a one-loss team. Florida State could get back in the playoff hunt if they win out and take the ACC championship. But that 43-point loss to Louisville is going to be extremely difficult to justify to the committee down the road. Consider that the last two seasons the one-loss playoff teams — Alabama (twice), Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan State and Oklahoma — lost by a combined 41 points in their one loss. Ohio State was the only team to lose by double digits. The Seminoles need to win the ACC and get more than just a little help. That loss is going to come up every single time.

Iowa - North Dakota State might be a Top 25 team in the FBS, but the fact is the Hawkeyes lost a tight game at home to a FCS school. That’s going to make it really hard to make it to the College Football Playoff. Remember how the Hawkeyes were being treated as an undefeated team last year? The only path back in would be winning the Big Ten West and a Big Ten championship, but with that loss it’s going to be tough.

Some Info used from MSNSports Five teams who could be out of the College Football Playoff running
Lmao. Two of those teams listed are sec. They are still eligible to win the sec. Any sec champ will be shoehorned into the CFP. Apologize to the sec and to ESPN and we'll move on.

BSU still in the hunt! All we need to do is go undefeated, have every P5 conference winner lose 4, and Houston lose at least 2. This shit could happen. :thumb:

Forget the fact that Iowa lost to an FCS team, they couldn't afford a loss at all with their SOS. Only hope would be if they are the only team with less than 2 losses.

I don't see Iowa finishing 11-1 though.

Oklahoma is out, Notre Dame is out, Ole Miss is out, Auburn is out, Southern Cal is out; Florida St. should be out, but still has a slim shot; Iowa, Texas, Kansas St., Oregon, UCLA, Oklahoma St., Virginia Tech, North Carolina, LSU, & Arizona are on shaky ground but could play their way back in if they run the table the rest of the way.

Garbage loss to Wisky, laughable win over an awful MSU team. This team thinks 'creativity on offense' is running reverses and reverse passes. Miles has finally done it, and there is no coming back.

LSU probably loses next week, they won't beat Arkansas, won't beat Ole Miss, and sure as hell won't beat Bama. A&M is a toss up, and not sure how LSU does with Florida. Gonna be a long season.

Besides the mandated media hype suckoff of USC every preseason, exactly who was ever calling them a playoff contender?

Didn't they start the season ranked around 20?

I mean yes they had to start the season against Bama, but they got skull fucked by Bama. It wasn't even remotely competitive. They were exposed as being nowhere near playoff caliber.
I cant think of anyone seriously calling a contender. And its only become worse following that dismantling by Alabama. Some said they were possibly a few years off. But with everything going on now I'm not even sure about that.

You have to be on a list to be taken off usually.
get the petro out of your ass.

Oregon was very much in it when this season started. A road loss by 3 points when your Heisman caliber RB is out, your offensive line depleted isn't something that knocks you out of the CFP race. OP see's this.

Not only is Oregon still in it, they aren't even on the "almost out" list!
SC is out Oregon still has a shot with conference play starting. They will need to run the table. And need Houston to lose some games as well as the B1G and ACC to fall in the right direction tho imo
