Willie Desjardins: I've never heard of half of these guys and the ones I do know are way past their prime.
Dave King: Most of these guys never had a prime.
Tom Renney: The fact is that we can't use NHL Players. And nobody seems to care to much about a tournament with a bunch of unknowns. Obviously it's time for some changes.
Willie Desjardins: This guy here is dead!
Tom Renney: no he's still alive Willie ... hell we thought you were dead !!!

The team was announced today. It is what it is. I wish these players all the best in the Olympics.

I've been reading some chat boards where some people will think the women's hockey will be more interesting/intriguing games to watch than the men's tourney. To counter that argument, the Canadian Women Olympic team hung on to beat the NW Midget AAA Flames 3-2 last night.

/These are kids that are aged 15-17. I'll stick with the men's tourney.

Was the game full contact?

Was the game full contact?

Probably not. My beef was more with the thought that the men's hockey games would be garbage and lacking of excitement/intrigue and that the women's hockey would be more engaging. Well, unless there's a major upset, it will be Canada vs. the States in the gold medal game on the women's side and I doubt I will watch much of any of the action until the gold medal game. I know I still will be tuning in to see men's hockey at these Olympics.

Oh I know. I was just trying to point out that if that game last night was all-out, full contact the midget boys would likely have won going away.
