I wonder if any of those guys have been to the Stampede?
I do not think there was ever a movie called "Dude Where's My Stampede?". If so I do not think it was released here.
But if there was, I would hire Seann William Scott to be in it. Maybe with Toni Collete as his love interest. I'd be in line on opening day (with many others!) to see that.

Dude, you are the quirkiest and most interesting poster I have ever seen. People think I am off the wall, but man, you don't even care if there is a wall.

If I get a chance to buy anyone from this board a beverage, I hope it is you. Of course, the drink would be a mint julep. In Louisville. On the first Saturday in May. Unless I am at the Berkshire Hathaway shareholder meeting.

Happy new year CI! Hope things are going better for you than they are for your Canadiens :D
They are for sure. The Habs are suffering from inept management and an owner who simply doesn't see that. Until a new GM is in place I expect more of the same mediocrity. Oh well, there's always beer! :suds:

Toews should've played himself out of best-on-best consideration at this point. Couturier or Monahan are having good seasons doing the job Toews was once relied on for internationally and I'd take either of them over him at this point.

I live in Calgary most of the time these days, dash. It amazes me how many "fans" I run into who don't think that much of Monahan. I don't get it. He's been pretty much all you could ever ask of a 6th overall pick.

Do these same fans covet veteran D men?

For the first time in a long while I won't bother watching any hockey during the Olympics. The best players will be staying home and the few Ruskies that will be there are B league at best playing under the Olympic flag, not Russia. A walking clusterfuck!
don't tell me you skipped the Spengler Cup, too!

Brett Hull probably would have too. Just saying.

I did skip the Spangler Cup. Was watching the World juniors. Nice to see Canuckistan come out on top in both though. Makes me feel a bit better about not sending a team to the Olympics

43 will be rooting for Canada simply because Divek Royganis is on the team.

Willie Desjardins: I've never heard of half of these guys and the ones I do know are way past their prime.
Dave King: Most of these guys never had a prime.
Tom Renney: The fact is that we can't use NHL Players. And nobody seems to care to much about a tournament with a bunch of unknowns. Obviously it's time for some changes.
Willie Desjardins: This guy here is dead!
Tom Renney: Cross him off, then!

Dave King: [Bourque arriving at pre-Olympics training] There's Rene Bourque.
Willie Desjardins: He was on the all rookie team for Chicago a few years back?
Tom Renney: Yeah, wound up in the Mexican League. Had problems with his heart.
Dave King: Wish we had him two years ago.
Tom Renney: We did.
