The States would have sent a strong team to South Korea as well(just spitballin' with the selections)

Forwards:

Johnny Gaudreau — Auston Matthews — Patrick Kane
Max Pacioretty — Jack Eichel — Blake Wheeler
Jason Zucker — Tyler Johnson — Phil Kessel
Brandon Saad — Vincent Trocheck — Matthew Tkachuk

In the mix: Brock Boeser, JT Miller, Kyle Connor, Anders Lee

Defense:

Zach Werenski — Seth Jones
Ryan Suter — John Carlson
Jaccob Slavin — Charlie McAvoy
Dustin Byfuglien, Cam Fowler

Goalies:

Quick, Gibson, Schneider

Last Olympics, Columbus had four Russians. (Bob, Tyutin, Nikitin, Anisimov)

This year, they'd have an outside shot at four Americans.

Jones, Werenski, Johnson (USA Hockey seems to love him), and Atkinson (if not hurt).

They need someone more responsible in their own end than Rielly. Jake Muzzin gets his place and Doughty and Pietrangelo change lines.

Gio might get a spot but Brent Burns would be selected ahead of Hamilton and so probably would Parayko.

Vlasic is not the player he was even two years ago. That would be a wasted roster spot.

Can't imagine Lee or Boeser wouldn't get called. JVR over Saad, too.

For the first time in a long while I won't bother watching any hockey during the Olympics. The best players will be staying home and the few Ruskies that will be there are B league at best playing under the Olympic flag, not Russia. A walking clusterfuck!

LOL at Rielly, Hamilton and Gio over Subban. Hell PK deserves to be ahead of Keith at this point.

I'd have Seguin in the lineup as well over Toews or Stone.

Need Burns for the PP.

Looking at all the options Canada's D is really good but not that much depth.
Toews should've played himself out of best-on-best consideration at this point. Couturier or Monahan are having good seasons doing the job Toews was once relied on for internationally and I'd take either of them over him at this point.

Monahan and Couturier are two of the most under-rated players in the league. Neither of them are fancy and won't wow you with spectacular goals, they just get the job done.

/Monahan became the second Flames player (Joe Nieuwendyk was the first) to score 20+ goals in his first five seasons with the team.

Brett Hull probably would have too. Just saying.

Oh man, that was very well played lol.

/Wamsley and Ramage were key contributors in that '89 season though (and Risebrough would have traded Hull away for a couple of rolls of hockey tape).

I live in Calgary most of the time these days, dash. It amazes me how many "fans" I run into who don't think that much of Monahan. I don't get it. He's been pretty much all you could ever ask of a 6th overall pick.
