What is Goldson's cap number this year? I think it's 6 millionish so we are really closer to 8 million under cap if my understanding of the franchise tag is correct.

Not sure what you mean by this. Goldsons deal is guaranteed. Full amount should be counting against the cap.

Sorry wasn't clear. What I meant was since Goldson's contract is guaranteed for this year and it is highly unlikely that we franchise him again next years cap space should be in the 8-10 million range

I would take that $3.5M and give it to Bryant McKinnie who just got cut, for a 1 year deal.

Then we'd have a great backup tackle, along with Boone. Our O line would be super deep with McKinnie and Leonard Davis on the bench. Good for a playoff run.

I would also take Haralson's money and use it to sign Merriman.

Once a guy is on IR he doesn't count towards the cap.
