Foles isn't a running QB

No but he tries to be in a Kelly offense, Foles had more rush att's than Sproles did last season at 57, about 20 less than RGIII, he was beat to shit by the end of last year.

I don't think TM will ever take the field in the NFL as QB, just saying there might be a play ready for him, just in case of emergency, which the Eagles were at last year, iirc didn't McCoy take a few snaps while Foles cleared bell ringing in his ears

the only fault that i see with your logic is that taylor has to prove he deserves to be on the roster in the first place. No coach is gonna leave a kid on the roster for a couple trick plays throughout the thousands of plays in the season…and if that coach did he had better be fired pretty damn quick by any smart GM. IF taylor proves he can stick as a #4 safety/decent special teams player, then sure, chip might draw up some sneaky ones. But if taylor looks lost at QB/WR/S and chip decides to keep him on the roster so he can run 3 wildcat plays with taylor back there during the season, he should get fired pretty damn fast.

I see what you're saying, but no less than any rookie will have to do, Kelly signed him to a contract, I'm guessing he has something very specific in mind for Taylor, I'm one of TM's biggest critics so Ill say that his skill set is extremely limited to be kind and it'll be interesting to see how this ends up

i have to fully and completely disagree with you. training and practice only serve to refine a natural ability that someone is born with. granted some people can make up for their lack of athleticism with technique and fundamentals, but 5-5 Earl Boykins was just never going to be able to physically dunk the basketball no matter how hard he trained

Athleticism is confidence and nothing more.

If you believe you suck, then you will suck.

I've been down this path myself. When I was younger my dad wasn't in to sports so when 5th grade basketball came around, I sucked balls and then some. I mean I SUUUUUCKED.

I had made up my mind, however, that I was going to get good at it. So I started watching the greatest players to ever play the game. I studied MJ's every move, and by 7th grade I came to this conclusion........I can't fly like him, but everything that he does while his feet are on or near the ground, I can do it if he can.

I played basketball out in the drive way every day for hours......rain, snow, or sunshine. Eventually I started getting good. Got All-Conference and All-State Honorable Mention......got a scholarship to play in college.

All because I worked at it and gained confidence. You would have thought I was a fag if you would have watched me playing before all that though.

He doesn't try to be a running QB in Kelly's NFL offense. This isn't the same as his Oregon offense. It is the same in the fact that he wants an uptempo fast offense but the fast mobile QB system isn't the same. Sproles was in an offense in New Orleans where he wasn't asked to run the ball. He caught 71 passes. And he wasn't a starter.

McCoy has taken snaps before but when Foles missed his 1 game with a concussion last year, Barkley was the starter.

Absolutely nobody is born with athleticism.

I have seen so many situations where two very athletic parents end up making a child who can't even kick a soccer ball without falling on their ass.

I've got a friend who is the white version of Lebron James, but hand him a baseball bat or a golf club and tell him to hit a ball offa tee and suddenly he looks like a monkey trying to assemble a swing set.

People get good at what they're good at by repetition and building confidence. Usually it's repetition at an early age as the younger you start the easier it is to battle through all the mental shit.

So "natural ability" and all that is just bullshit to you?

But wait, you said earlier that if you work hard enough then anything someone else can do or already has done is attainable. So why couldn't you have been able to fly like him?

negative

freak athletes like Lebron clowney or Peterson or speedsters like Usain bolt, denard Robinson. All had it and didn't have to put in as much work as John doe or avg Joe

you can train as much as you want it can only do so much. either you have it or you don't. go look at lbj high school film or Clowney film. no matter how hard those kids can train they went stopping or blocking those guys.

There are plenty of bball and football players that can ball but are deem to short. can train to get taller. bet your bottom dollar if manziel had been 6'4 and still had the speed he's no 1-2 pick and might have won 2 heisman.

it's sucks but there is a ceiling for the avg joes. sky the limit for the lbj n clowney

This interests me really only cause I like watching the Eagles with Kelly running them, not because I think Edwardo is a kickass QB, a few of my good friends are lifer Eagles fans so I end up watching many of their games and cheering them on, cept for when they play Detroit, that game at Philly in the blizzard was bullshit crazy

alot of kids have Confidence and beliefs. but once a freak athlete comes along that isn't gonna help you. You can believe that you can take lbj 1 on 1 in basketball chances are your gonna lose 10 out of 10 times. You could even train with Usain bolt ever day your still gonna lose In a sprint against him. that just talent that is given from above.

that why steroids and hgh are popular now

Ironically I caught some of that game getting lunch "beer" while on a ski trip in Durango Colo. it looked the same outside where we were at. I did a dbl take at the big screen cause I thought how could they have that bad of reception here at the ski lodge pub

I feel sorry for people who truly believe they just aren't gifted.

That is such a quitter's mentality.

There are a million things I suck at......but that is my own fault. Not nature's fault

One is "Born with athleticism".

Taylor is fast and has taken shots where I was impressed he got up, but those are his limitations.

He does not have an NFL arm. He has even less of an NFL arm that Tebow did, and Tebow had all the resources available to teach that 'athleticism'.

Taylor does not possess the ankles and hips to make people miss, and runs like a man begging to get his head taken off.

I doubt he makes it past the first cut on the offensive side of the ball.

I don't know if he can cover or tackle, so the defensive side remains to be seen.

What Class of high school basketball did you play to be "good", and what Division (D1, D2, D3, CC) college basketball did you play?

Since you worked so hard to be as 'good' as the best, why weren't you given full ride as a Husker? I'll just assume you would have turned down Kansas, North Carolina, or Duke.

Who in the hell ever said I was the best?

I didn't work hard enough, I can guarantee you that much.

Ya'll don't give these guys nowadays enough credit. What you see when you turn on the TV is hard work......not just simply good fortune.

As for playing for Nebraska, to be honest I was going to try out and I am damn certain I would have made the team.

Things got in the way. My growing addiction to drugs and alcohol at the time. My girlfriend who had me by the cock at the time. My grades going down the tubes at the time.

I am by no means the next Michael Jordan, nor was I ever. But like I said, if I wouldn't have believed that I could be, I would have never been as good as I was.

Your muscles don't just act on their own. Your body doesn't coordinate on its own. Your brain tells your body how to act. When you see an uncoordinated kid trying to play sports, he simply has no idea how to play the sport that he is playing, and doesn't believe that he can.

Life is such a mental game, all the way around. We just love to make excuses for ourselves though. Because it's never fair, and so-and-so ALWAYS got the longer end of the stick

The one wildcard in all of this is Height.

Height is a serious gift, and I cannot sit here and say that people like Lebron who are 6'8" went out and made his way to 6'8". He is very fortunate to be that height, and because of that he holds an extreme advantage over dreamers like myself.

As for everything else.....meh, you can make yourself what you want to be.
