Didn't think 1st round players could be extended until after year 4 in the new CBA. I thought the decision on 1st round players was whether to pick up the 5th year option.

I'd like to take Stafford up a slight notch and even w/o a playoff win, I'd put him in the Matt Ryan class, but that's about right.

Don't hold me to this, but I think you can extend any rookie contract in the final year of the rookie deal. The new money doesn't start flowing until after the rookie deal is completed.
