Yes. Nelson is a top 10 pick. He is the safest player in this draft. You put him in the same level as Hernndez and WYnn which is crazy. He is a better prospect than Sherff if that is what you are getting at.

now mind you in the last 6 going on 7 seasons our 4th rounders have been KC , a PB qb soon to have a very big pay day , jamison crowder , our starting wr and a good slot guy , and samaje perine , our starting RB for most of the season who will most likely settle into the RB by committee role

the other thing i find fascinating is a few years ago , you and most of this board bashed me for saying we would take an OG in the top 5 yet you are saying an OG is likely to be a top 5 talent

i remember the debate , i went back through all the drafts and came back with 5 guys or so featuring john hannah and how i was told under no uncertain terms it woudnt happen and OG's are a dime a dozen

and no dummy i am not saying he isnt better then sherff

both wynn and hernandez have the potential to play a decade and make PBS , nelson has the potential to play a decade and make all pro teams . so the drop off is insignificant

Depends how high we go if we trade up. Why is a trade up ruled out? I don't get that. As far as Scherff I was arguing with a lot of people that he wasn't an OT but OG. Yes OG is important but L. Willaims at the time was the more talented and we had no one on our dline at the time.

Of course more compensation will be needed but im not afraid to give up more compensation b/c I think Nelson is a slam dunk. At the time of the Scherff draft when there was a stud DE prospect in Williams I would of went Williams. I didn't doubt the talent I just would of looked at another postion b/c of our team need. The only time when RG3 got hurt I said we were fine b/c I thought KC could of handled the QB duties. That wasn't routing for an injury.

Plus in this draft there is not elite LT or WR so that even pushed Nelson up the board even more. Forget the data you bashed Alex Smith career which is beyond stupid.
