Not gonna happen because of lack of funds, but could you imagine if Tampa were to resign Stamkos to a multi year deal with a cap hit of $7.5 million and sign Doughty to a offer sheet with a NTC, which he seems to be looking for, worth $7.5 million a season.

They have the capspace to do it, and with the cap most likely to rise next year would be in possision to resign Hedman as well.

Tampa would be a beast for many many years if this were to transpire.

That would be scary, but how long until Lecavalier and St. Louis' production starts falling off. They are at both extremes of the spectrum right now.

How much of an impact has Lecavalier been so far? He's lost a lot of ground in the last two years and he may not be worth retaining in the next offseason. St. Louis is the obvious leader of that team, he's a bigger priority.

Signing Stamkos and Doughty together would be great, but what do they pay a goalie after they pay Hedman? Are we expecting Rolli to stay until he's 50?

This would be a must-win year in that scenario, and I wouldn't want to face them..

Lecavalier has so many years left on his deal that his grandchildren are going to have to play for the Lightning. Also he has a huge cap hit and a NTC (hey! quit laughing! some GM's respect the NTC!).

I think Lecavalier's days of being a legit point-per-game threat are over, but he did have a terrific playoffs and might be finally finding his stride after the concussion.

St. Louis is locked down for a few more years as well, he signed an extension last summer.

I think it would be a coup for the Lightning to swipe Doughty and lock down Stamkos, but Vinnie's contract makes that a bad idea. Like you said, they wouldn't be able to afford any decent role players or a goalie, unless Rolo is willing to play for free doughnuts and a can of Centrum Silver.

This was more pleasant than my original diagnosis.

The first doctor made me do a breast exam. I thought that was unnecessary.

Sounds like a good doctor to me. First things first with cat scratch fever, we don't want anything happening to those breasts. Actually that is true with any diagnosis when it comes to most women.
