Patriots and Dolphins started out the year with a game against each other. Patriots ended up losing when they should have Won.
Fast foward 4 games, Pats and Fins are both 1-4. Seasons looking grim.

Patriots persevered. They did not throw out the baby with the bathwater.
Dolphins continued to slide and point fingers.
One coach, Flores, making wholesale changes and bad decisions.
One coach, Belichick, staying the course and coaching the team into working together.
Fast forward again, Pats 4-4, Dolphins 1-7 and on a 7 game losing streak.
Patriots continue to support each other, Dolphins pointing at the last place defense and their almost rookie QB. Nobody is playing consistently well.

9. Patriots (21): Admittedly, it's a weird résumé, though one that's significantly improved with a 54-point outburst and road win over the Bolts in past two weeks. New England is also this close to a 7-1 record ... though Pats should be 7-4 once Week 12 and a date with some old friends from Tennessee rolls around.

30. Dolphins (29): They've got the worst defense in the league and have run the ball fewer than anyone else. So why do we keep asking Brian Flores about QB Tua Tagovailoa? Maybe it's time to broker a trade for Khalil Mack ... or at least Larry Csonka.

The Pats were never 1-4. They were 0-2 then 1-2 then 1-3 then 2-3, then 2-4, then 3-4, then 4-4.

It's apparent that Dolphins'owner Sephen Ross isn't a fotball man. Flores took over a sinking ship in 2019 and with a crap team started reshapingit. In 2020 he gotthem to10-6 and it appeared they were on the brink of turning everything around and then Ross startedtoying withtradingTua forWatson and started internal turmoil. They had injuries and bunch of Covid and ended up 8-9 in 2021. My gutsaysthat they will be lucky to be 5-12 next year regardless of who takes over. Flores would be perfect for Jacksonville.

Flores beat NE twice this year. That alone should've earned him a bonus. Proof the Miami ownership are not football minds.

So what's the o/u(years) on when Miami will be relevant again?

2022 they un-build,
2023 they rebuild,
their rebuilding usually lasts 3 years so, 2026?

2022 they trade the whole kitchen and pantry for DeShaun.
2023 DeShaun is frustrated that there is still no team around him because they traded all their picks and anybody that was worth a damn to get him.
2024 DeShaun starts throwing temper tantrums...

Rebuilding continues until internal combustion engines are banned.

And beyond.

He's 81. His wife is 56. Makes one wonder if she wants to own the team and run it or hire someone else to do it. Steve is worth $8.6B. He owns a shit ton of Miami real estate.

My guess is that she keeps the team and hires Belichick, not to coach, but to run it for $100M a year. They win consecutive Super Bowls in 2031,32,33 and BB passes away and she sells the team and all of her real estate to Jeff Bezos.
