If I'm not mistaken, Snider also looks good this spring. I think Tabata playing to his potential is more valuable than Snider playing to his potential, but having them both do it would be the best case scenario, of course.

If both Tabata and Snider keep playing well, the Pirates could have a happy dilemma on their hands. It would, though, give them security in case Marte gets hurt or struggles to find his consistency.

Hopefully Tabata gets back to the batting average/speed/defense skill set that got him the contract in the first place. The guy isn't a home run hitter, and him adding pounds isn't going to make him a homerun hitter.

I have to agree with Element.. Best thing Tabata can do is focus on putting great swings on the baseball and driving it hard... getting on base... Some homeruns will come...But if the guy never hits more than 20 in a season I am fine with it. I just want the guy that almost hit .300 back in 2010 combined with the guy that was walking more in 2011... I think Tabata could put an OPS above .800... hitting .300 with 70+ walks... 40 doubles... That is the Tabata I want to see...

Hell if Tabata could hit .300 with 70+ walks I could care less if he hits more than 10 homeruns a season.
