Not sure why I said that, as it's not necessarily true.

UCLA/Michigan, Vanderbilt/Duke, and Oklahoma St/Texas Tech are all (1-1) and are playing today for a trip to Omaha.

Ole Miss/Arkansas, Stanford/Mississippi St, LSU/Florida St, and North Carolina/Auburn have only played one game and game two may or may not settle the Super Regional today.

Wow! This Oklahoma State vs Texas Tech super regional has been entertaining

Game tied at 4-4 after 7. Oklahoma State gets a HR and another run in top of 8th to take a 6-4 lead. Texas Tech comes up and Jung hits a solo Homerun. TT gets 2 runners on and Wilson hits a 3 run HR to give Tech the 8-6 lead going into 9th

Florida State got screwed on that LSU homerun earlier. Ball was foul and went in front of foul pole but was reviewed and LSU still got the home run.

to tie it in the fifth -
lead-off homer gets tech back in front,
but pokes answer with their own solo homer
in the seventh,
followed by another poke solo homer in the eighth
plus another run to get it to a two-run lead -
at this point, i thot it was over -

was goin to issue congrats n luck to the pokes,
but was busy workin in the back yard -

but then tech comes alive
with another lead-off homer
by #8 pick josh jung to get it to a one-run game,
and another homer by kurt wilson with 2 on base,
and tech takes the lead at 8-6

what a battle!

Weird night. After Jung's HR I had a friend call and say his wife left and took the kids. We talked about it for a while. I missed the ending but it went from the most important thing I was doing to something small.

Congrats Tech fans. It was an intense series and if I'm being honest the better team prevailed. I hate that we met in the super and not in Omaha but that is life. I'm in kind of a weird place over the evening because the game doesn't really matter to me right now but for my team it was a fun run. Sucks that it ended this way for us but quite honestly things in real life sometimes suck more.

Don't be surprised if Michigan is somewhat of a fan favorite here in Omaha. They haven't been here in 35 years (since 1984) and they are Big 10.

Local CWS fans aren't big on teams that are year in and year out chalks. They like Cinderella's and uncommon teams.

A couple of notes....

Nebraska beat Texas Tech in a tournament earlier in the season. So beating them is not insurmountable.
I didn't realize that Michigan had also beaten UCLA in a tournament back on March 8th. They had UCLA's #.

Other teams that could be fan favorites....

Auburn: Haven't been here in 22 years (1997).

Arkansas: Dave Van Horn has a piece of Nebraska's heart as he coached the Huskers to the CWS a few times in the early 2000's before Van Horn's Alma Mater came calling him home. The vast majority of Husker fans understand him leaving.

Florida St: 23 trips to Omaha and never won a title.
