McDermott would be a .500 coach at Nebraska too.
:stephena:

He's slightly over .500 against Miles. I'd say that makes him a better coach. A better coach would have better results.

My point was that Creighton gets better recruits because they have more of a selling point.

You, of all people, should know that Creighton fans hate McDermott.

First I've heard of it.

Not sure what selling points you are talking about, other than playing in the Big East. And that hasn't been around for long. I don't know if being a catholic school is a selling point. The PBA is newer than the Link. Omaha is a bigger city, but it's still in Nebraska. I'm pretty sure having a national brand football team helps more than having a good soccer team.

My point is, McDermott would be better than .500 wherever he coaches. He has a proven track record.

I understand what you are saying and we will never get Nick Saban or Jay Wright or Coach K but we can get is a top 20 25 coach to come here and raise the bar significantly from 500 to 700 that's all I'm asking

6 years is long enough. We haven't improved under Miles which is why he was brought here.

What do you think of the Nevada coach I think we could get him here

Or Lue. What I think is going to happen this miles is going to get this year and then Lou will have a whole year off and then miles will be let go and Lou will come in and we will see a huge recruiting job. Which will equate two more wins but I just don't know how good of a basketball coach Tyronn Lue is I know you don't get to his level without knowing what you're doing but let's face it he had tremendous Talent that didn't really need to be coached

Dana Altman would be the perfect fit for Nebraska basketball.

I’m glad you asked this. This is precisely what I’ve been talking about all along. It’s called having a history of success as a program. It’s when you’ve actually done something and you can prove that you are a true basketball school. Imagine being a talented 4-Star athlete and weighing your options between Nebraska and Creighton.

“Hmmm.....where am I more likely to be a part of a successful team?”

I don’t even see how this is an argument.

Maybe it’s because I’ve followed this program since I was 3 years old every step of the way that I know it better? Our football program is 10 out of 10 on prestige level. Our basketball program is 1 out of 10.

I swear a lot of fans think because our football program was dominant, so to should be anything else Husker related.

Past outcomes do not determine future results in fact it is one of the worst ways to look at something. Okay so Creighton sucked before they got good correct? and how did they get good I'm guessing they went out and bought a quality coach and raised the bar of what they deem is a successful season at their school. Nobody has tradition or success until they have it. So what I am proposing is that we go out and buy it the way the Yankees did the way the Patriots did the way any successful program has done before us. Since you have followed this since you were three years old I'm sure you've seen the rise and fall of many teams correct? Except for Duke Norff Carolina Kentucky Kansas and programs like them. What's the difference between those schools they pay a freaking coach a freaking good salary they went out and got a high-quality basketball coach why are you fighting wanting to get a good to great basketball coach.

J you are absolutely the only fan I have ever met that thinks it's acceptable to suck because we don't have tradition and you're unwilling to go out and try to get somebody who can bring a basketball tradition here you're Wading In The kiddy pool and I'm saying let's go cannon ball into the deep end

I just got done saying I would pay any amount of money to get whatever coach we could possibly get. I am not okay with sucking. I’m realistic though and I understand why we don’t have a top-tier coach. Nobody is just sitting around allowing mediocrity to happen. It’s just all we can get.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.....Nebraska gets up-and-comers and we just have to hope the guy pans out.

The up-and-comer strategies just beating a dead horse and again it's throwing good money after bad. I would much rather pay four million dollars a year for the next 10 years then having to hire two to three coaches in that same 10-year period for the same amount or less money.
