Switching Lee and Carter

Really need to go back to 3-4. Carter was better in that scheme

If we switched schemes to suit a guy like Carter everyone associated with the team should be fired. He will be lucky to play next year.

Carter has been horrible outside of 3 games last year. I didn't see anything that he was good at this year. Horrible instincts, can't learn a simple defense, can't cover, average tackler, can't fill a hole. Didn't even see him chase down any plays or use his speed in any way. Time for him to sit on the bench unless he remembers how to play football. I don't see a position that I'd want the guy I watched this year playing. Holloman looked better in his first start than Carter looked in any game this year and Holloman has barely even played LB.

Holloman looked like a 3-4 linebacker playing a a 4-3 which wasnt much better.

Carter has never been asked in the pros nor in college to cover TEs or receivers.. He looked exactly like someone that was lost in this scheme and in playing a totally new position. Confused

His natural position is inside ... like Lee. But Lee is the better of the two which is why I am not up for switching Lee's position.
And Carter being an inside man used to stopping the run.... strong side linebacker in THIS defense would probably be the better fit for him

and totally agree...... best man at each position seems to be the way to go

Every player should have to fight for a spot not just the Linebackers

For some reason always seems like we have 1-2 that really show up every week ... and 1-2 take the damn game off..... frustrating to say the least

I just don't see how anybody can justify bringing kiffin back. The man just never adjusted the scheme to match the strengths of the players. Ware was better in the 3-4 as was Carter.

This thread show's how badly Jerry has fucked up the Cowboys. He fires Ryan and switches to the Tampa 2, despite having OLB's like Ware and Spencer, and doling out big money for Carr and trading up for Mo, who fit Ryan's scheme. He said we took too many risks. Then, at midseason, he's bitching about us playing to conservative. Now he may switch back to the 3-4, but since his Head Coach is one more .500 season from being fired, we may be going back to the 4-3 the year after that if the new HC prefers that style. Or Jerry can hire the DC first and then hire a puppet HC as usual. It's the same on offense. JG calls the plays, has his duties stripped, but by the end of the season, it was the same old run it 15 times and throw it 45 times bullshit. The cap is a mess. We're taking TE's in the 2nd round in a year that we change defense schemes. Jerry might be the only GM in the history of the NFL that has 25 years on the job and has gotten worse at what he does

I know we're probably sticking with the 4-3, I was mainly talking about Jerry's midseason comments about making the switch. Jerry is trying to show patience and stability by keeping JG around, but if you don't let the HC decide who his OC and DC are, whats the point? Jerry is running this team into the ground, it's going to get worse before it gets better

The 3-4 was designed to stop the run and put all the pressure on the passing game.

This is a passing league now. I think you will see less and less teams playing the 3-4 and even fewer doing it successfully.
