saw that

heres the story in case people want to read:

Andrew Brackman quits baseball to pursue basketball and a new identity

By Jason Cohen @Jason00Cohen on Aug 4 2013, 2:30p 5

Mark Nolan

Ex-Yankees prospect Andrew Brackman has apparently [ame=""]quit baseball[/ame] and will be heading overseas to pursue a career in basketball. Since leaving the Yankees organization in 2011, he spent time in the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox systems and never really succeeded anywhere.

Brackman was known more for his contract than his actual performance on the mound. The Yankees selected him in the first round of the 2007 MLB Draft, but the only reason he fell to them was because he needed Tommy John surgery. Teams regularly sign top flight players who drop because of injuries, like the Royals drafted Sean Manaea this year, but Scott Boras demanded and actually managed to get a major league deal for Brackman.
He didn't pitch until the 2009 season and in his three years in the Yankees organization, there was only one level where he was able to pitch to an ERA under 5.00 (a 3.01 ERA for Double-A in 2010). In 2011 he was finally moved to the bullpen, but still struggled mightily at Triple-A. He got a cup of coffee in September where he gave up a hit and three walks in 2.1 innings with New York. He never made it back up and he retires with a 5.38 ERA, a 7.7 K/9, and a 5.1 BB/9 in 408.1 minor league innings.
Maybe the once two-sport athlete will find better fortune in a new sport, a new country, a new continent. Maybe he should go by Andy and grow a beard too because being "Andrew Brackman, the baseball player," didn't really work.

I liked Fringe overall, no complaints. Walter was a great character. I did like the earlier seasons better however.

The last seaon of fringe confused me!! what time line were they on?? what happened to the original timeline??

LOL

I think they kind of gave up on the Timeline storyline.

Agree that they did it in a questionable manner.

Three games in and am impressed with Inglesias.

With losing Peralta to suspension the Tigers better send the BoSox a gift basket for helping them out!

So far I think he has a decent swing and think he can be a consistent .250-.260 hitter and I have not seen anyone get rid of a ball quicker.

Tigers are just keeping ahead of Indians and without Inglesias Tigers may looking at wildcard.

I hope Peavy works out for the Sox....if for no other reason the Rays and their pitching staff seem to be catching fire!

My fantasy website says Nelson Cruz has decided to accept his 50 game suspension, but I don't see the suspensions have broken yet.

Rangers must be thrilled. Appeal, and help the team try and make the playoffs, or accept, and be unencumbered heading into free agency.

you guys will LOVE iglesias's defense

his bat? terrible. his BABIP this year was redonkulous and he finally corrected at a .205 clip for july...hes a star with the glove, but thats it. dudes done things defensively that make you mouth "wow".

.250-.260 would be insane as he never hit out of the .240's in AAA

i literally see a .220 hitter, tops

You shut your whore mouth...Frida Kahlo is a saint. Her work inspires as well as cleanses the soul.

Plus, buccs is the one posting the ghey stuff. I'm just educating dumasses on real art thing-a-mummies.
