Thats got to be the mindset of this team going into the season. We are going to be without a starting DE, and one of our better rotation LBs for the first four games. Of the first four, the only one I dont consider a seriously favor the redskins game is week two. If we can get to the bye at 3-1 we will get Jenkins and Jackson back. I think Jackson could actually be that swing LB who could spell LFB. With a week five bye giving us two weeks to prep for Dallas, Survive the first four ( or rather excell in the first four) has got to be the mindset.

Can't afford anymore injuries or suspensions on defense. This is reminding me a lot of last year as far as this crap goes.

We should be 3-1 at the bye. There is no way we are beating the Packers in GB. The Eagles and Raiders should be solid wins. The Lions is going to be a tough one but they are a different team when they play on the road. Its huge that we are playing them at home.

I envy you, because I worry about EVERY game, especially if it's a divisional game. This is the NFL. Any given Sunday and all that jazz. Especially when there are always teams way better and way worse than you expect.

Remember how shocked we were to beat New Orleans on the road in week 1 last year. In a shootout no less. And then we lost to St. Louis and the Bengals at home in the next two weeks.

I think we'll be 2-2 after the first 4 weeks.

I don't think overall the sked looks too bad - probably because of the AFC West teams in there.

Agree with Shark in the OP though - survive those weeks without some kind of disaster that could sink the season. I don't think 2-2 is a disaster.

Also, if we have to travel to Green Bay, better September than December!

The Rams and Bengals were projected to be good teams in 2012. The eagles and raiders are not. They should be picking in the top 5 in next years draft. If we have any intention on making the playoffs the eagles and raider games are must wins. The Lions game is going to be tough, but with a healthy Rg3 at home makes a huge difference.

The Bengals were projected and were a good team, that is true - good point. It was the home opener though. You should win that game unless you are playing one of the top 3-4 teams in the league. I never bought the Rams as being a great team. I expected us to win that one.

It's never a must win until it's a must win.

I still think people emphasize too much winning certain games. EVERY year we beat 2-3 teams we don't expect to and lost 2-3 games we don't expect to (or more during the awful years). Gotta take it section by section, week by week.

Anybody who believes that we shouldn't be at least a little worried, is crazy. The Eagles have a new coach and a new offense. It's an offense that will be more geared toward Vick's skillset. Detroit has Megatron. I'd put three people on him if we have to and bring the heat on Stafford. 2-2 at the bye is not the end of the world.

losing conference games early can and will hurt later in the year when tie breakers . 2-2 in that span would be ok but 3-1 would be ideal

i think we can make do until jenkins and jackson make it back . i also agree that jackson could help at ILB

I think we should be taking a closer look at these so called character guys and punish them ourselves more severely. This is getting ridiculous and now is hurting the team extremely bad. Even though they are depth guys, Jenkins became a starter by injury default and has now let his team down.

As a starter, probably not. But we arent looking for a starting ILB. But we are lookig for some one who can spell LFB 10-15 plays a game.

i dont see a need to be worried . the eagles just had macklin carted off the field with a leg injury

Carriker and Jenkins are our top two DEs across from Bowen. That is a very large loss.

He wasn't in coverage really. He wasn't lined up across from a TE. He was in the right place at the right time.

look all we need for now is for golston and baker to hold the point of attack and every now and then get some pressure

that is pretty much what we got from jenkins last season . also maybe tapp can play there in passing situations

yes it isnt good . but we do have good depth there and now it will get tested
