Best of luck to him. He clearly loves the game. Much better chance making it onto the Royals pitching staff than the Giants.

I am not so sure that is accurate. I would assume he would be the Giants #6, MAYBE #7 (after Vogelsong). The linked story said that he would be called up IF one of the younger kids was not deemed ready. That tells me he would be a lower option than with the Giants.

The Giants will almost certainly need at least 2 additional starting pitchers before the end of the year, and they have shown absolutely no desire in giving the ball to Sosa, so that means Vogelsong is the only other option (unless you consider Daigle or Dessens options).

I'm not following that, Cal. Seems to me that the #6 guy in the Royals system has a much better chance at a call up than the #6 guy in SF. Stands to reason that at least one of the Royals kids won't be ready for prime time. We know all five Giants starters are (barring injury) going to take the ball 30+ times.

Would you rather hope for a kid not quite making it or somebody getting hurt? I'd rather be a Royal.

The way the article was worded made it seem like he was not going to be the #6 guy. Maybe I read too much into it.
