Something to think about beforehand when thinking about gutting the defense and draft to get the franchise qb
we can keep the defense but we won't have a decent QB If Watson or Prescott don't happen the rest are mediocre
If we keep the defense
You can’t get Watson without going that periodwe can keep the defense but we won't have a decent QB If Watson or Prescott don't happen the rest are mediocre
Well Washington is screwed then because the rest are mediocre and they are going to hope a QB not drafted in the 1st round is going to be the answerYou can’t get Watson without going that period
No we aren’t just yetWell Washington is screwed then because the rest are mediocre and they are going to hope a QB not drafted in the 1st round is going to be the answer
The same defense that couldn't touch Brady, or stop Fournett? Or the defense that finished #2 in the NFL?we can keep the defense but we won't have a decent QB If Watson or Prescott don't happen the rest are mediocre
Need to upgrade in the linebacker departmentThe same defense that couldn't touch Brady, or stop Fournett? Or the defense that finished #2 in the NFL?
That didn't work too well. Folks have a habit of seeing a play early and thinking "aha, they got Brady" not so fast my friend. They systematically sliced KC's defense up.
if you give up 2 defensive players plus top end draft picks you severely limit your ability to get the same production out of the defense.Need to upgrade in the linebacker department
You keep posting about the Skins defense like they're a once In a generation defense. They are not that n if it were possible to keep the defense together for the next 5 to 7 years. I doubt they would ever become that.Something to think about beforehand when thinking about gutting the defense and draft to get the franchise qb
the run defense can be solved by better LB play . and it is possible to keep the defense together if it is a priority to do so . we have the cap space to do so and i have shown this before . drafting well solves many issues as wellYou keep posting about the Skins defense like they're a once In a generation defense. They are not that n if it were possible to keep the defense together for the next 5 to 7 years. I doubt they would ever become that.
The biggest difference between the Bucs n the Skins this year was 3 things.
Turnovers.
The Bucs won their turnover battle for the year coming up with 25 to their opponents coming up with 17.
The Skins lost their turnover battle for the year coming up with 23 to their opponents coming up with 27.
The Bucs defense allowed 3.6 yards per rush. The Skins defense allowed 4.2 yards per rush.
QBing.
Brady threw 42 TDs to 12 INTs @ 7.6 yards a pop this year.
4 Skins QBs combined to throw 16 TDs to 16 INTs @ 6.3 yards a pop this year.
If they don't improve their run defense. The Skins D will never be great. And even if they do improve the defense. Times n games are gonna come where the best weapon a team can have is a franchise QB.
