All I can say is what the hell? I do not understand this. It is supposedly for insurance to Eric Bledsoe. Even with that, I would still rather have Dragic being backed up by Ish Smith and Green being backed up by Goodwin. I wonder if this has anything to do with the trade rumor today of the Suns being very interested in Thaddeus Young and the Sixers being very interested in Goodwin.

I am not interested in trading Archie Goodwin under any circumstances unless the Suns get back a proven superstar in return. Unless the Suns think acquiring Thaddeus Young will elevate them to be able to beat the Heat in the finals, I would not trade Goodwin for him. Goodwin is 19 and has pure speed, raw athleticism, and the drive to be a great player. Trading such a young player with that kind of potential is a huge mistake. Just look at the Bledsoe deal. I would think the Clippers would take back that trade right about now. Ryan McD traded Dudley and got back a potential all star point guard. Dudley is a great role player but not a star. The Suns were able to trade him and get a cornerstone player to build around if they want to.

So I certainly hope the Suns do not trade Goodwin. How many times have the Suns had a prospect like him? Not often. You do not trade away guys like that, especially on rookie contracts. The Suns need to stick to the plan of building around young players and not trading them away for players that are not going to lead you to a championship.

You guys are getting worked up over nothing. This deal won't be signed till tomorrow. when teams can start signing players to 10 day contracts. This is nothing more than depth for the team while Bledsoe heals. If Bledsoe is healthy in a week, Barbosa will likely only be on the team for 10 days. If he needs longer to get healthy, then we sign him to another 10 day contract. We lose nothing in this deal. He has been tearing up the Brazil league he has been playing for 20 ppg. If nothing else, he is a proven slasher & layup artist which is something that can be useful off the bench if Bledsoe is out for more than a week.

As for the Thadius Young rumor, it is just a Philly driven rumor at this point. The guy wants to be traded. And to he plans to option out of his contract after the 2014/15 season. So if traded for, you would get him for just a season & a half. But I could see the Suns sending either our pick or the Indy pick, & maybe our second rounder with Okefor to complete this trade. The power of expiring contracts for a team that is rebuilding is quite alluring.

By they way, Young is technically a power forward. so you would likely see Fry going to the bench if we some how acquired him.
