Just made my annual call to directv today..... I did my usual threatening to cancel my account and then re-sign with my wife's name for this season and get the ticket for free. This year it took 5 different supervisors before finally negotiating half-price. Given that the ticket is cheaper than it has been in some time (300 bucks for max package), this is some pretty good savings. I'm getting the whole thing for 150.

If you have the ticket, give it a try.

Thanks cincy,i'll look into it.

THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I moved from Pa to Fl in April, had my Direct TV service hooked up, immediately ordered the NFL Ticket for 199.00, already have made 2 39.99 payments..Stumbled in here this AM, read this thread and said WTF, why not give it a try..

Called Direct TV, and after a few minutes they said yes I get it for free!!!!!!!!!!!!! and they would credit back my acct the 2 39.99 charges...

HEY WTF is this when I logged in? Hello cravnravn. It appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks. Is your team really that bad? Throw your two-cents in the discussion.

BTW -- For those that haven't done it yet, the time is now. With directiv facing so many issues with their pissing match with Viacom, I'm told their giving away a bunch of shit for free. Tell them you are canceling because you haven't had Comedy Central for over a week.

I called about a week ago and cited the Viacom thing (which I don't really care about) and through some wrangling got:

Sunday Ticket Max: $100 (normal price of $299.99)

$10 off a month for 12 months ($120 value)

I was more than happy...I probably could have got the other package for free (basic, not Sunday Ticket Max) but I really wanted the Red Zone Channel.

And BTW Direct TV and Viacom settled their dispute, now I can back to watching Diamond Divers next week.

Got rid of my Directv yesterday. I called them with the intention that I either get it for free or I'm cancelling. Went straight to the cancellation department and told them I want Sunday Ticket for free or I'm cancelling. They offered it for free but under the condition that I agree to a 1 year contract. I told them to screw off and cancelled.

No regrets so far. It'll suck not being able to watch 5 games on Sunday, but for the Bengals I'll be able to stream it online (hopefully) and I save $45/month. Any other tv I watch is only ever on my computer anyways.

Maybe you can send those credits to: C/O Joe "The Best QB in the NFL" Flacco and help out with those negotiations.

as long as you can watch it online comfortably there's no reason to waste money.

That's the trick. Have you guys had success finding it consistently online? I have watched preseason games like that in the past, but the coverage was spotty.

There are a couple really good sites.

The nice thing is I'm in the Pittsburgh area, so if the Steelers are on at a different time than the Bengals, they'll show the Bengals (or Ravens) game.

He donest need my little 80 buck refund..And boy is he going to get paid

Hopefully the guy has a good money man..... He'd be wise to save his cash after he gets destroyed behind his geriatric offensive line. Matt Birk? That guy was in his prime 6 years ago. Bobbie Williams? Love the guy, but about the most you can count on him for now is solid run blocking and three or four false starts per game. Grubbs was a big loss for you guys.

Called DirecTV to find out when my "recovery box" would come so I could send my equipment back. After some conversation was directed to the retention department. Got my Sunday Ticket for free with no contract extension.

WAPOW!
