Suggestion Thread for NHL Survivor SportsHoopla Style

I have to say that I am thrilled with the success of this game. I wasn't entirely sure how it was going to go over but am very pleased with it.

The rules that I stole and modified are a little basic and there are always places to improve.

So I am asking you all that participate what you would like to see different or changed with the game to have it stand the test of time for a regular length season.

All suggestions are welcomed

I like the idea that once you pick a player, he is off limits for you for the rest of that round.

Thanks for doing it, it is a lot of fun even if I have the cold, black hand of death.

Two things I've heard discussed, and I don't know how feasible they'd be is:
Only able to use a given player once per round
-or-
Not able to pick anyone in the top ten in scoring

Keeps the Stamkos - Crosby - Kane - Stamkos - Crosby - Kane picks down.


I also think we could decide ties with a shootout. Instead of no winner when we get to head to head we go to Shots in game, then Penalty Minutes, Then TOI. So if two players are head to head and neither guy scores, whoever has the most shots wins, then if still tied, who has most Penalty minutes, still tied TOI.

Then, still tied, whoever isn't a penguin or canuck

However, I've been doing it anyway. Once I pick somebody I don't pick him again.

just had an idea for those that get a scratched player. we are getting close to end of seaosn and teams that have huge leads may rest players.

can we do this

pick your player and then in brackets pick you backup in case that player was scratched?

e.g.

Marian Hossa (Patrick Kane if scratched)

what do you think?

and it should be left up to the person that picks the player to alert in the thread that the scratch occured, Boss or anyone else that helps run the thread should not be looking for the scratches.

Sorry I have been so absent lately.

We can certainly take into consideration the scratched player idea. We will finish out this season and have a discussion thread or even keep this going until we come up with some easy to follow rules and maybe standings or something.
