Same with CarolinaNot really on topic, but just an observation, for what it is worth:
Going into the game last season vs the Broncos, the Packers were 6-0 on the season, and 18-4 going back to the previous season ..
Since the drubbing at the hands of the Broncos, the Pack is 8-12
Same with Carolina
Those QB's just never seem to be the same. Brady is the only one that seems to be able to handle a beating by the Broncos and still do well afterwards. Given he did have an extra month with his suspension to get over it. Cam went from getting beaten down in the Super Bowl to getting beaten down by that same defense week 1. Hard to come back from that.
Posted a interesting stat about Brady. He is great on schedule but get him off schedule and he is barely average. 51% completion rate when he is required to hold the ball.
I just hope we can get to the post season, a healthy CJ back would be nice (targeting week 17) and then the defense says "Well take it from here"
Miami is coming on strong. Was hoping for a loss yesterday but the Rams O like Denver's O is just no help for a great defensive performance. I could easily see a Miami team come into Mile High and do the same thing because of our inept offense.
Texans screwed twice by refs
Their coach will be pissed after the game
Man that was terrible. I don't even know how the NFL can be ok with what just happened in this game. Sometimes the rules they have just make 0 sense. I don't care if the whistle is blown. If it is obvious that a player after review is in and nobody was even close it should be a touchdown. You cannot cost a team that much because of a goof up by the officials. Then the 4th and 1 was ridiculous. I mean it doesn't get any clearer where the ball should be marked. Very easy camera angles to confirm he got the 1st down. I don't ever say the officials decided a game but they definitely decided this one tonight. Huge calls that cost real points.
David Carr is Aaron Rodgers when Arod was playing at an MVP level
His TD to int ratio is outstanding and he makes explosive plays every game and he throw so effortlessly
That one was pretty bad. I've said it a million times: I wish these refs would just let the play run out and not be so fast on the whistle because it makes mistakes correctible. You can't review and overturn that ruling last night. But if he let's the play go, they rule it a TD and then it's revealed he did step out of bounds you can correct the ruling. That was 4 points the refs cost the Texans.
But even assuming the entirety of the remaining game played out exactly like it did* up to the other controversial call (the 4th and inches the Texans converted but still somehow was ruled a turnover on downs) you can't say those calls cost the Texans the game. Say the Texans reach that 4th and 1 and the score is 24-20 the way it should have been** the Texans likely take the FG and go up 27-20. Of course we know the Raider scored so let's assume they did and the regulation period ended with a 27-27 tie. There's no way to know how an OT period would have played out. Speculation one way or the other is ENTIRELY dependent on one's bias.
* This is always a very simplistic way to look at games because no plays happen in a vacuum. That difference in points may well have altered the style of play calls and critical decisions later in the game, and we really can't definitively prove the outcome would have been different.
** See*. While I think the Texans got boned on those two plays the only definitive conclusion we can take from this game is the Raiders are now 8-2.
Winning 5 games in row is impressive but every team Miami has beat in that stretch is below .500. They have a good D vs mediocre offences and Tannihill and company haven't lit up score board vs these defences either. Miami might finish 3-3 rest of reg season. When it comes to the " Buy or Sell " on this team, I'll take Sell.Yeah Miami is definitely coming on strong as the season progresses. Really a loss for either the Chiefs or Broncos this Sunday night puts them in a tough race the rest of the way. Baltimore and Pitt both sitting at 5-5 would only be one game behind. Dolphins could be tied with a pretty easy remaining schedule. Bills are 5-5 playing very up and down but could get hot. Heck even the Titans and Colts could make life interesting. So big game for both the Broncos and Chiefs not only to stay close in the division but to not fall back into that pack having to fight all the harder just to make the playoffs. This is where playing in such a tough division like the AFC West could be bad for that team that finishes 3rd.
O'Brien made big mistake not to throw challenge on 3rd down. The 4th down play was iffy whether he made line of gain. Stupid not to have challenged it on third though. On the Hopkins error.....they should install rule where any discrepancy on " out of bounds " potential should be " drop the hat ", let play continue and then let replay determine. That way the official is protected as well. That one was pretty bad.
