MITCH! :gaah:

“Maybe we can wait until September,” Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak joked in an NBA TV interview conducted during the team’s summer-league win over Golden State on Monday. “Obviously that’s one of the next things that we’re going to address, and with putting the roster together and getting through the draft and getting through this last period, a week or two, the next thing we’re going to work on is the coach, and I think we’re going to have somebody in the next couple weeks.”
Lakers eventually will get around to hiring a head coach - The Washington Post

I'm with you guys...this should of been done once their plan to let the free agents have their input on the coach didn't work. Let's get Scott in there NOW and let's get these summer league guys used to his system.

I think they have left the SL up to Mark Madsen. He is running that show for the Lakers.

Who says Scott hasn't been hired? For all we know that "3rd interview" was all just for show - just an excuse for him to meet up with Mitch to discuss rosters, routine, etc...

We don't know but I suspect if they hired B. Scott a while back as I mentioned before the draft, then he is already been at work and the 3rd interview was indeed a true hollowood production.

The writing is on the wall right in front of everyone

The next coach for the Lakers is going to be.... Mark "Mad Dog" Madsen

At halftime he'll give dancing lessons to the fans

Not funny. Don't quit your day job cooking cheese steaks. I will have one with fryed onions.

Actually, word is that rosters, routine, etc. were exactly what that 3rd interview was about.

I'd like to see Mad Dog's take on Jason Kidds slap of a drink out of an assistant's hand to fake the need for a time-out that was not charged to their time-out total.

So for you guys who think Scott is a done deal, and I'm not disagreeing with you, do you think he has a coaching staff that's available in mind or maybe already committed as well ? :noidea:

They met for 3.5 hours discussing the roster and such. I haven't heard anything of them meeting with other candidates.

That doesn't make any sense though. It seems like that kind of thing would be illegal or at the very least, against NBA guidelines and protocols.

It's far more likely the 2nd interview was like every 2nd interview with potential employers, get to know better, work on more details, etc. And then this 3rd one is more of a "Hey. Here's our roster now. You still interested?"
