That's not what I said. I said that Chris Culliver cut down gay people with his offensive comments, and he did. And you're defending that, which makes you almost as bad as Chris Culliver. You're defending homophobia. That's being a bad friend to gay people. When exactly did I "cut down" gays? All I said was that Culliver has a right to opinion, and he's not a bigot for being uncomfortable with man on man sex. If you think that's "cutting down" the gay community you need to GTFO.
There is no discussion to be had. We have past the time where gay people need to approve or defend their lives. You either are accepting or you're not accepting. This exactly why it's impossible to have a rational discussion about this subject.
Why can't people stop criticizing homosexuality? Why can't people simply be accepting? Why do many expect millions of straight and gay people who are against homophobia to simply be silent when someone says something anti-gay?I think anyone who took Culliver's words as "anti-gay" is being hypersensitive and is just looking to get offended. Honestly, can anyone say anything these days without someone somewhere feeling offended?
CC said he didn't want gay players on his team and effectively said they shouldn't be in the NFL. That is anti-gay. There aren't two ways around it.
The freedom of speech to denigrate and be inquisitive over the sexuality of people who aren't straight. Such a noble cause to fight for!I'm a friend of the freedom of speech more than I am a friend of the gay community. Not offending the gay community doesn't take precedence over freedom of fucking speech.
As far as I know, no-one has been jailed for spewing anti-gay hate. If we did that as a country, half the country would be in prison.
If you think comparing discrimination to discrimination and saying one form of discrimination is somehow less in stature or less of discrimination, then you need to be educated. It isn't. Not one group is exactly the same as another in its "plight". If you think gays today are going through the same discrimination blacks went through before the civil rights movement exploded you need to be educated.
BTW, gay people, worldwide, have been discriminated against for longer than any other notable minority group. There may not have been one watershed anti-gay event in history. It's been more a consistent, never-ending hatred. And it's apathetic, callousness such as what you're displaying that will continue that hatred.
