Love this. Hate losing Larry, but this certainly eases the blow. Nothing like losing one of best ever d-men from behind your bench and replacing him with another.

Also this other guy Shaw who coached SJ's PP has had them in the top 4 PP's in the league the last 4 season. Not bad at all.

Maybe it was some back door trade type deal.

Devils lost Oates and needed to replace him with a good pp coach. They had an excellent backup defensive coach so were willing to trade their proven defensive coach for a proven pp coach.

Great question. Obviously Robinson was a great coach but we weren't that dominant in previous years with him. Is it simply that we just had better personnel than in previous years? 2 prototypical stay at home guys (A-Train/Bryce) and 3 forwards who were scoring threats at all times (Parise/Kovy/Truth) combined with Zubrus taking up half the rink and Fayne turning into a shot blocking machine. Having a PK that is automatic is 1 of the greatest assets a team could ask for.

Im excited about this..but then again I was excited about Johnny Mac..I'll do the wait and see approach as well. But he cant hurt with Larsson.
