I wouldn't stretch that far. Steph is going to cool off. Can't keep that pace up for 82 games. Also they haven't played many elite teams yet. Outside of the Clippers and Houston, schedule has not been crazy tough. I'll say around 65

I don't think any team will ever win 72 games or more again - that one is like the Lakers 30 wins in a row as untouchable. These referees got chips on their shoulders and are looking to knock players on their asses for even sneezing.

Pelicans look like shit and were missing 5 or 6 players both times. Pistons are solid but not near GSW level so everyone knew they would not win. Minnesota is a bad team.

But how many teams are? You can toss out the Pelicans games because they were decimated by injuries. They've made the Grizzlies look bad this year twice. They've beat the Rockets who they faced last year in the WCF and the Clips. And they played the Pistons at the peak of their early surge. The only other teams on their level that they have not faced have been OKC, Spurs and Cavs. The Warriors have beat 2 of the top 5 teams (imo) that are threats to the Warriors. 3 of 6 if you included the Grizzlies who in the past always gave the Warriors problems.

The Warriors will likely not win 72, but more likely because they're going to give guys more rest this year. I legit believe the record doesn't mean anything to them. What will matter is another title and confirmation that their win was not a fluke.

Good point re resting guys, but I was thinking 70 is doable, only 3 more than last year and they are better. THey may rest guys against bad teams and beat them anyway.

But totally agree, win total doesn't matter except for HFA. Another ring obviously does.
