I don't know much about the guy other than lineage, but he's 25 and seems to be fairly durable. Maybe he isn't as good as Unger, but if he's more available then that's a plus. I hope it works, and getting this guy just 48 hours after the trade would make it look even better.

Carroll said that he hopes that we can sign him, and that he felt there was mutual interest. Nothing has happened, yet, so that's about all.

I wonder if possible deal is on hold until after the Jimmy/Unger deal is official. I think I heard Unger takes his physical Monday. Maybe they have a handshake deal for now that becomes official after Monday

Man, Unger being in Hawaii really delayed the finality of the trade...

I also heard Unger takes his physical tomorrow, and I'm actually a bit worried about that due to his injury history, but yesterday Clayton said on his show that the trade was finalized and in the books. Not sure what to believe.

For a G note, the Saints could fly the doc out to Hawaii if that is what has delayed anything. I bet Seattle would spend the airfare to solidify the deal, which I believe to be strongly in our favor.

OOPs, back on topic.

I would like Wiz on this team, but I am highly doubtful it happens.
I would say 20% chance tops.

Clayton has also said previously that unless something serious is discovered usually teams overlook minor things and give an easy passing grade. So Unger should be fine.

Looks like Wisniewski is setting up a visit to St. Louis.

Money. We are pushing the edge. We still have lots of our own FA's to sign. Pete has mentioned that he and JS have some younger players that can fill in on the OL and that is one reason why they are happy with the trading away Unger. Pete also says the draft is deep for OL.
Now rumored SW wants $6M +. His cost is the main reason I feel that there is only a small chance of SW becoming a Seahawk.

$6M? I love him at $3+, like him well enough for $4+...at $5 or more? Thanks for your time, Wiz. Good luck in your future endeavors.

That sucks. Last I read it was around 3 per. Hopefully the right guys fall to them in the draft and they load up on O+D linemen.

I think Wisniewski is seeing what all these other FA's are getting and realizing his comment about getting $3 million clearly undersold what he should be getting on the open market. I think his big thing is he just wanted out of Oakland no matter the cost. From what I understand Oakland offered him $5 million and he still turned it down even when he was thinking he would only get $3 million.
