I expect Ben to be here more than 4 years (unless he wants to retire because he's looking at life in a wheelchair), and even an old Ben will be better than a young Bradford.
I agree. Main reason to maintain a solid QB2 is to cushion the blow of losing #1, both interim & long-term. But IMO it should never impact the decision-making in finding the long-term answer in the draft. Whether that means tanking to 6-10 (in '03) or worse, or going 8-8 (in '13) and still having a shot at drafting someone like Teddy Bridgwater or Derek Carr.I don't want to waste time after Ben with some never-was either. When Ben goes down for the count, we find our next blue-chip Franchise player.
QB2 only to not let the season go down the drain for an injury. Once Ben is done, I expect them to tank a season with a nobody, so they are in position to get the appropriate replacement.I agree. I see the logic in it, but I don't think Tomlin could put aside his pride to do it.QB2 only to not let the season go down the drain for an injury. Once Ben is done, I expect them to tank a season with a nobody, so they are in position to get the appropriate replacement.
You just can't rely on enough teams being stupid enough to let a Rodgers drop again.
His rounds better not include a return to the Burgh anytime soon!
