Steelers extended Colbert through 2018. Another no brainer. He hit a rough patch there in '08 & '09 but I think he has had a couple of really solid drafts over the past few years. It was just a few seasons ago that people were calling for his head, me included. Just goes to show the importance of his job, and the thin ice he has to make a living on.

More OT depth is an interesting move. I don't think it has much of an impact other than needing more camp bodies at the position. The Safety position was flooded so it makes sense. Still a brutal reminder of the nature of the business. I'm sure Dangerfield had his bags packed for Latrobe yesterday and he woke up unemployed.

Definitely. There are, if any, very few that work harder than him. Its a no-brainer signing for the FO. His age, versatility (OT, OG, C), and talent would demand a HUGE amount of attention on the market if it got to that point.

1. This concerns me about Golson. If Golson is going to miss any more time then he is likely headed for IR to essentially redshirt this season. He just isn’t going to be ready for the season with his injury. This keeps the pressure off of him and allow him to heal and get ready at his own pace. Boykins should start at the slot for us.

2. You don’t make this kind of move unless you believe your front 7 is going to be good. I think Tomlin and Colbert has seen enough from the front 7 to invest in the here and now. This is a good sign for the defense, I’m getting excited!
