Believe it or not, we've had 60 mph gusts here in Manchester, NH. I have a 12' x 28' deck on the back of my house. One end is totally bare where the wind is hitting it as it arrives. The other end has a 4 foot snow drift. It's hard to tell whether we've got 16" or 36" because of the wind. I'll be going out around 4PM with my Troybilt snowblower and trying to clear the driveway and deck and porches.

Miss that shit...

I do too... the concept of a snow day is foreign around here. Then again, I think I would immediately snap out of it when getting up early to un-bury the car, scrape the windshield and warm the car up.

Good morning .................took a yard stick out to my bak yard this morning.......28.5" of new fallen snow. Spent two hours snowblowing last night and two more this morning. This morning I was like Mister Rogers and helping everyone cut through the 5-6 ft snowbanks at the end of their driveway.

Now for the painful wait until Sunday. Only problem is that we're supposed to get a small storm Friday and another mid-size storm on Sunday...........All I ask is that there are no power outages.

It was a lot of snow. At least 2 feet and more depending on the drifts. But as long as you had power it was fine. After piddling around the house in the morning it was time to power up the snow blower and have at it.

1978,......that was the worst storm I've ever seen,.....cars stuck on the highways,......my neighbor died from a heart attack on the highway trying to shovel himself out (40 yrs. old!),.....no school all week, power out most of that time too,......no computers, iPads,cell-phones,.....just candle-light and books, monopoly, scrabble..!,....saddest story = a kid from another town (my age) did a flip off his front steps and hit his head on the wrought-iron railing and froze to death just feet from his home, they found his body a month or so later,.....sad.

Haa!!!

No Doubt! I go home for X-Mas every few years and there is nothing better than 4"-6" snow every day and I don't have to shovel an inch of the stuff.

Bring gifts, go skiing, borrow a snow mobile, pack up gifts, go home and wash truck!

Whoop Whoop!!!
