Redskins will hire Austin as their new HC then grab Suh in FA.

Good news is we'll still have a Joquie Bell.

IMO Austin needs to do it 2 years in a row before he is a legit HC prospect.

If I was a fan of a team that hired him I would question it as he has 1 year as a coordinator under his belt. Will a team bite....maybe and good for him but my guess is it's his turn next year.

Lions need to promote Austin. Give him the HC position, get a new OC, and let Austin decide what's best for the defense. This, of course, is barring a major offensive outbreak in the next couple weeks.

Why can't someone come and steal OC Lombardi?

I actaully think promoting or naming him a higher title means he is more worthy of a interview. JMO it may backfire.

After seeing some of Caldwells in game decisions this week, I might be OK with making Austin the HC and make Jimmy some kind of token management guy.

How does Austin becoming the HC make things better? Did he make the calls on the offensive side of the ball where the Lions are lacking?

No, but keeping him and his scheme here is what they are speaking of IMO. Gunther was here but still ran the wide 9 because Schwartz said so.

He can bring in his own OC and a new patsy DC to run his current defense. He also would not make a ridiculous 2nd half challenge and waste a TO on what was an obvious call. He would also not go for a 4th and 10 in the first half in lieu of a 50 yd FG with the wind at his back and a kicker that holds the record for the longest FG in NFL history (which also allowed our starting guard to get injured).

In other words, things could possibly get a lot better.

Maybe, I don't know.....Linehan is gone, then all the sudden our offense sucks?.....That's scheme not players.....The same players are there.

Yes, I think we are all saying the same thing.

You say what Austin would do, not sure he would do it....

I do agree that I'm tired of seeing the Lions down at the 35 yard line and either punting or going for it on long distance.....I shook my head the past 3 weeks..................Prater has a leg, but no one trust him.

That is what gets me about Lombardi. He seems to make decent calls on 3rd down all the way to the opponents 40 or 30 yard line then has total brain farts. Then seems Caldwell makes a bad call worse by going when IMO they should kick FG or try FG when I feel they should go for it same with punts.

Always easy to coach from my recliner.

Going for it on 4th and 10, from the 31, makes no sense. What are the odds of converting a 4th and long? Maybe 30%? I'm sure that's generous, but you get the point. They don't think Prater could make 1 out of 3 FGs of 48 yards?
