At least name him the assistant HC/HC in waiting...
How does Austin becoming the HC make things better? Did he make the calls on the offensive side of the ball where the Lions are lacking? After seeing some of Caldwells in game decisions this week, I might be OK with making Austin the HC and make Jimmy some kind of token management guy.

Maybe, I don't know.....Linehan is gone, then all the sudden our offense sucks?.....That's scheme not players.....The same players are there. No, but keeping him and his scheme here is what they are speaking of IMO. Gunther was here but still ran the wide 9 because Schwartz said so.

You say what Austin would do, not sure he would do it....He can bring in his own OC and a new patsy DC to run his current defense. He also would not make a ridiculous 2nd half challenge and waste a TO on what was an obvious call. He would also not go for a 4th and 10 in the first half in lieu of a 50 yd FG with the wind at his back and a kicker that holds the record for the longest FG in NFL history (which also allowed our starting guard to get injured).
In other words, things could possibly get a lot better.

I do agree that I'm tired of seeing the Lions down at the 35 yard line and either punting or going for it on long distance.....I shook my head the past 3 weeks..................Prater has a leg, but no one trust him.
