Sutter should give no. 32 the day off Sunday and let Jones face Minnesota.

Kings lead in hits, saves and giveaways. All signs of a not so great game

Congrats to Jonathan Quick for his 32nd career shutout tying Rogie Vachon for the Kings' all-time record

He will no doubt put up a number that will be really, really hard to top before his career with the Kings is over. But the guy is so humble he refuses to acknowledge the achievement. In the post game interview he said, "Yeah it's nice but it's all about wins, not individual stats." It's a shame the Hall of Fame committee hasn't seen fit to put Rogie in the HOF.

Kings 2-1-1 5 points
Quick 1-0-0 2 points

That's how the standings should read.

True Ox, Vachon should get HOF considerations for sure.

Fact pulled from the blog
-The last time the Kings were out-shot by as many as 25 shots was on December 13, 2010, when Detroit out-shot L.A. 51-26 at Joe Louis Arena. Quick posted a 51-save shutout in the Kings’ 5-0 win.

I was at that game. My first hockey game since moving to Michigan. It was on a monday right after my first semester at Central Michigan University ended. It was also the first good snowstorm of the year, 5-6 inches I think in the morning. Stayed at my roommates place in Ann Arbor that day before going to the game. I didn't even have a ticket when I went to the arena. I park in the parking structure and ask the first Red Wings fan I see where the box office is, turns out he's a season ticket holder who happened to have a spare seat. Even though I was in my Kings gear he gave me the ticket no questions asked.

It was the very last row in the arena, but honestly that's like row A in the 300's at Staples. All the guy asked in return was that I buy him a beer. I had to give him money for that, I was 2 days from turning 21.

Another random fact: I've been to 2 Kings/Red Wings games in Detroit and have not paid for tickets yet. The 2nd game I went to was during the shortened season. LA tied the game at 2 in the final minute, only to lose the game with 4 seconds left. That sucked....

But I saw myself on TV! I'm the one in the purple Kopitar jersey:

I will be at the Kings-Red Wings game on Halloween in 2 weeks. This time I had to buy tickets :(
