I am not sure why anyone wouldn't think he would be a good upgrade over Andreaoff/Shore. The dude still has a ton of skill, watch some of the passes he makes he still has the touch.....and yes he is still ok on FO. He is definitely slow but he fits this roster very well right now.

Have to agree that he has surprised me (good thing). When put into context like you did - "he fits THIS roster" - that was key, if anyone was expecting 50 goal Lecavalier they would be mistaken, but as a veteran 3C there for leadership, putting guys in their proper places it has worked out well so far.

I can tell you off the bat his FO skills are a trillion percent improvement over Shore/Andreoff alone. Add in the veteran presence, what his expectations are, his size and the occasional ability to make a play and he has fiit in well so far.

Also liking what I am seeing from Schenn; have not seen him make a glaring mistake, he is physical and just doing his job as the bottom pair defender.

I'm sure both guys will screw the pooch at some point and awaken my ire like so many on this roster but so far so good.
