I have a mac and a fairly old PC. The pc still gets the job done, but its got some weird internet protection stuff that i didnt download so now i cant go to youtube, google images or.... Por*****phy! My dad told me that i can take it to this business here in town and they'll just completely erase the hard drive, and clean the processors, and put windows 7 on it for 200 bucks and im deciding if i should do it or not.

Dude, you should learn how to do this type of stuff yourself, it's fairly simple and will save you lots of cash.

Hey Sooner. Are Ad-Aware or ZoneAlarm worth any time? And how about Firefox as a browser?

All right. Well break it down for me.

Opera, Firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari.... Which is best?

Next.

Is Ad-Aware useless? Also, is ZoneAlarm useless?

I like Opera and Firefox. Opera is slightly better I'd say. It's really and has just as good as features as Firefox does.

Ad Aware has real-time protection which is great, but I heard it doesn't have an email scanner.

Zone Alarm was one of the fire walls I used last year for a classroom project and I liked it. It blocks virtually everything. But some apps will not work with it at all, or you have to open certain ports for certain apps to work. :llama:

There's a firewall leak tester download on the Net somewhere. It's a great tool to test various firewalls to see which works best. I'll see if I can find it.

I'm hoping the SSD disk comes in next week. I'm not the kind of person who has like 500 gigs of stuff on my hard disk. I am hoping to see a big improvement. Need to upgrade my graphics card too.. Thinking of an ati with crossfire capability

Well shit, the site I once got it from is having some issues.
www.firewallleaktester.com

I'll keep looking though.
It's all bout personal preference though. I wouldn't be surprised if Sooner came in here and told me Zone Alarm sucks.
