Just saw a little more of this incident on Sportsnet - Nino hit Cammy with a blindside hit prior to the start of the youtube clip. This doesn't excuse Squidy's reaction, but it probably explains why he was steaming.

Plekanec said Nino was cross checking Canadien players all game long. Whether it's true or not I don't know. I didn't see the game. Fortunately all Niederreiter has is a bruise. It will be interesting to see what Colin Campbell does. I don't expect much, if anything. Campbell usually has it in for the Isles.

I think (hope) he gets a game for it.

The hit was a hockey play. Whether NN was running around or not, swinging at the kid's head isn't the way to go about it.

Generalize what? What does a dive and faked injury from long ago (5-6 years) and long gone has to do with a stupid blatant whack from tonight's game?

Would it be the same if I could find a more recent clip of a current goalie for a certain eastern conference team flopping after hardly being touched and then generalize a negative reaction after any other play I see from that team?


Or is that not fair?

Well how would you feel if a player you just picked in a fantasy draft did something stupid and will probably miss a few games for it? As a GM that reflects poorly on me and my managerial skills and I don't like that.

Me too...Don't get me wrong, the slash to the back of the leg/ankle was bad, but you could be messing up a guy's vision when you go upstairs.
