Reports are that we are considering trading for Sproles. I really hope not. He is in his 30s and his performance is on the decline. Do not give up a draft pick for him. Helu can give us close to his production if not match it. He also has a contract that eats up a lot of cap space for a 30+ year old waning player. If they cut him, maybe bring him in, but do not trade for him.

Eagles gave up a 5th round pick. Sproles is not worth a 5th round pick? You guys are crazy!!! The Eagles have the two best receiving backs in football. How do we not give our 5th round pick for Sproles? Its higher and the Saints would of done business with us. Another bad move by us.

Averaged 6 yards per return in last 3 years (bottom half of league). He isn't 27 anymore. Also, anyone who takes touches away from Shady McCoy is okay in my book - move doesn't make much sense to me for the Eagles.

Again, in the grand scheme of things, not a problem we have. Helu is pretty good at coming out of the backfield, Shanhan just didn't use him that much.

I don't dispute that as a bottom 5 coach in the league shanahan may not have used what you had properly, but Sproles would have still improved your ability to protect your QB, and he came for nothing.

He WAS a better back. At 32, I'm fine with helu. By the time we have rebuilt this team, sproles will be out of the league and helu would have missed reps. How does that help us?

Because in the short term it helps you to better protect your franchise. Any and all moves that keep RG3 alive until there's actual talent around him make your team better long term.
