SportsHoopla's Week 1 Voting Thread

What would be a good time frame for voting? What day should I start a voting thread and when should deadline be?

I like this idea, but moving forward you should post Saturday night/Sunday morning. During a typical week alot can change between Thursday and Saturday. I'd give a Tuesday 6PM deadline. During the regular season there typically aren't as many sunday/Monday games.

So, voting is Sunday through Tuesday. Of course, Rankings on Tuesday. Is that what you are thinking?

That would probably be best. Especially once conference play starts. I'd cap voting at like 2PM ET on Tuesday and if you can get the rankings up before the games later that night.

It's tougher because there's so many games on throughout the week

I like putting a poll together though, right now it's a crapshoot

I'll move this out of the voting thread, but yes and there's always unexpected teams that seem to rise to power. Some rise then fall lol.....like remember when Arizona State looked like one of the best teams in the nation last year?

fwiw, 7 teams in last year's pre-season top 25 missed the NCAAT

college basketball is much harder to predict than college football, IMO. Teams will seemingly come out of nowhere and compete. while a lot of teams that were predicted to do well look like total garbage

Agreed, you never know how it will shape up. Last year there were teams like Loyola-Chicago and Texas Tech who really came out of nowhere

Duke looks scary after one gm but the media needs to slow their role. It was 1 gm. Espn was actually discussing how duke would do against the cavs

I will wait until Dec 2 to do a voting thread It will give a few weeks of play and maybe more will be comfortable on voting.

Only got a couple votes and t was clear that we basically went by rankings. After a few weeks, we can at least go by some stats and results.

Good call. Every regular on this board s tisply knows college basketball do it should be a good poll
