This is a tough one. After much consideration, I voted today for Alabama.

Not sure what was the swaying vote for me? Possibly, it was the fact that, when Texas went into Lincoln and beat the Huskers and ended their years long home winning streak, the wonderful Nebraska fans actually stood up and applauded the Texas team and Ricky Williams as they left the field.

We were amazed, they truly were the best fans in CFB.

And now, the rest of the story...

So because the fans showed respect to both teams, you voted against them?

Nebraska is (13-6) against the SEC in bowl games.
Yes, and they received big time NYD Bowl invites for 7 straight years despite losing each and every one of those games. That streak is a great testament to the strength of Nebraska's brand (Name another program with such a streak.). You might recognize that, or you can be an asshat about it...

Yes but 1-2 Against Bama in bowl games.

And 2-3 head to head against Bama all time.

Your point was Nebraska bowl games. They do have an overall 2 game losing record (24-26), but are (13-6) against Alabama and their competition. Put that into perspective.

Nebraska has won 4 of it's 5 national titles against SEC teams. Three of those were national #1 vs 2 games, and one was #1 vs #3.
One was against #2 Alabama (38-6)

LMAO!!!!

Yet NOT One Loss to the SEC.

Those losses were to echelons Miami and Florida St. and were for NC's.
Even Georgia Tech was awarded an NC for beating Nebraska.

It's hard to vote for Nebraska knowing that without partial qualifiers they're basically Iowa jr now. They had a great run while it lasted, but in a few years they'll be looked at like Army, Navy, Minnesota and SMU.

I had only one point, maybe it was another poster you are referring to.

My point is that Nebraska is 1-2 in bowl games against Bama and 2-3 all time against Bama. That is not up for debate. You can take up your SEC issues with the REST of the SEC, but in the Bama/Nebraska thread, Bama is the better and more storied program both statistically and head to head all time.

1/1/70 Rose Bowl - lost to USCw 3-10
<no 1971>
1/1/72 Rose Bowl - lost to Stanford 12-13
<no 1973-1975>
1/1/76 Orange Bowl - lost to OK 6-14
1/1/77 Rose Bowl - lost to USCw 6-14
1/2/78 Rose Bowl - lost to UW 20-27
1/1/79 Rose Bowl - lost to USCw 10-17
12/28/79 Gator Bowl - lost to UNC 15-17
That's 7 Bowl losses in a row, but not all in consecutive years.

Their Nebs lost 7 major Bowl games in 7 consecutive years.
1/1/88 Fiesta Bowl - lost to FSU 28-31
1/2/89 Orange Bowl - lost to Miami 3-23
1/1/90 Fiesta Bowl - lost to FSU 17-41
1/1/91 Citrus Bowl - lost to GT 21-45
1/1/92 Orange Bowl - lost to Miami 0-22
1/1/93 Orange Bowl - lost to FSU 14-27
1/1/94 Orange Bowl - lost to FSU 16-18
That infers something special about the Nebraska brand.
*B8 champs only 4 of those years. Never less than 9 wins.

Like This?

2010 - (5-7)
2011 - (8-5)
2012 - (9-4)
2013 - (8-5)
2014 - (6-7)

That would be fucking pathetic, no?

The Citrus wasn't a major bowl

Hey now, the SEC loved the Citrus Bowl.

1990

Nebraska (9-3)

Lost to Ga Tech (Citrus), who went (11-0-1) and won the Coaches NC.

Lost to Colorado, who won the Orange Bowl, went (11-1-1), and won AP NC.

Lost @ #17 Oklahoma
