When considering Notre Dame:

And then when considering Nebraska:

Nice.

You don't get it. You Big 10/Notre Dame honks act as if Oklahoma, Alabama, Nebraska, USC didn't exist pre 1940.

They all did and they were all good.

The difference is since 1950 (modern football) they've all been better than the Big 10/Notre Dame.

Iowajerms was fucking livid when Nebraska was voted over Ohio St. How can that be that the Big 10's Ohio St would lose? How could they possibly be losing to USC?

I'll tell you why. Because the Big 10 and Notre Dame have been overrated for 50 fucking years, that's why.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. But if it all the same with you, I'm going to continue watching their games. I find them entertaining.

Well then I'm not a fucking hypocrite then am I?

When I see two teams that are similar overall, I vote for the team that's been better in modern football. i.e post 1950.

Yeah, you're right. I thought Nebraska won because OU fans helped you out for an easier matchup. It's easier to beat a long-time rival that you clearly more storied than another team that dominated the conference for so many years.

And I barely voted ND over USC. Actually, most of my posts in that thread gave reasons to pick USC over ND.

And why is my disagreement such a big thing? Yeah, I am a B1G homer. That is true. It means just as much, if not less, as any team homer.

1972 Orange Bowl

#1 Undefeated Nebraska against #2 undefeated Alabama

Nebraska beats Alabama and the Big 8 is voted the three best teams in the final ranking

1. Nebraska
2. Oklahoma - only loss was to Nebraska and crushed their bowl opponent also
3. Colorado - only lost to Nebraska and Oklahoma, won their bowl game
4. Alabama - only loss was to Nebraska, convincingly

Matter of fact, Nebraska loves playing SEC teams when the national championship is on the line. Three of the bowl games were in Miami(plus the 1994 win was in Miami) the 1995 game was in Tempe, AZ. No home field advantage for the Cornhuskers.

1970 beat LSU
1971 beat Alabama
1995 beat Florida
1997 beat Tennessee

I voted Oklahoma over Nebraska, as did the majority of Huskers. Oklahoma's win was legit.

I will vote Ohio St over Nebraska in a rematch just to fuck up the silliness.

Why did you chose 50 years, how about the last 20 years or maybe 15 years.

Because that's generally the accepted split point between modern and rusty nail football.

1975 Alabama could have chosen to play 1 loss Nebraska in the Sugar Bowl.

Rumor has it, Bear Bryant told the Sugar Bowl in no uncertain terms was Alabama playing Nebraska, Bear Bryant selected Penn State.

Tom Osborne told the Sugar Bowl, "tell that son of a gun(referring to Bear Bryant) not to duck us."

Meh...I'm guessing that after Oklahoma throttled you 35-10 to end the regular season that Bryant wasn't ducking you...maybe he should have scheduled Arizona St...based on the Fiesta Bowl results, they were clearly better than Nebraska in '75.
