This was a tough one. Johnny was more talented but was mostly loved on reacting to the defense. Matt had more control and was a better leader, but he is a lot less athletic and natural than Manziel.

I am baffled by the votes thus far... 6-3 in favor of Leinart?

I never thought Leinart was special. Dude was surrounded by really good talent, Manziel did things no one thought he could do.

But I don't think he would have been any better with Leinart's offense. He still would get himself in trouble a lot by not staying in the pocket as much as she should have.

Manziel's style didn't make anybody else better. Leinart was very simple and helped his protection.

With Leinarts offense, Manziel probably wouldn't have won the heisman at all. Manziel was impressive because he didn't have an insane amount of talent comparative to other teams. This means that he would often be put in bad positions annnnnd THAT is where he won the heisman. Again, the dude made plays that baffled people.

Leinart... to me, just did what was expected. Nothing more, nothing less.

Leinart is likely the better overall natural QB, but I am going by who impressed me more. That is Manziel.
