First amendment protects you from the government, not your employer. How many people have been fired for saying gay people suck or transgenders are nasty or black people should be hung? Too many to count. Did you stand up for their rights of free speech?

See post #4. They have rights, employer has rights. I don't fault this credit union for dumping Marshall. It is their right to.

If i made 100 mill regardless of talent or not, I would be kissing the flag every day and singing God Bless America. Where I came from in Europe millions of people got slaughtered in WW2 so glad my parents came here. What does he have to be unhappy and ungrateful?
I hope they all get black balled from the league. They can use all that money to go out and start a hippie rally campaign that nobody gives a f*ck about, and then we can all go back to enjoying football and supporting the men & women who give their lives to protect our freedom the right way.

I see so what are we arguing about.

1. they are free to piss on the flag
2. we are free to call them assholes and be disgusted by their actions
3. this company is free to fire them

Never said he was Rosa Parks. Not even close. Speak for yourself not for me.

I do stand for their 1ST AMENDMENT RIGHTS. I don't care for their message. That is all these people are doing exercising the constitutional rights. If that is unAmerican this country is in trouble.

It's frigging disrespetful. It's like the womanizer husband who flirts right in front of his wife who bore him 6 kids and make every sacrifice. Can you say piece of shit? I can

Pretty much. And that is probably the whole outcome of this.

I honestly think the NFL needs to nip this in the bud and just fine them. Either that or move up the ceremony before they come on the field. Essentially the NFL is condoning these actions and the fact they are a tax exempt entity doesn't set well with me getting a free pass on taxes and allowing their employee to give a big FU to the country.

Football made him a wealthy man. Oh the injustice.

It's not about the 1st amendment rights it's about the stage he is choosing to take advantage of and about what he is protesting.

He has a problem with a country that oppresses black people (understandable). He has a problem with the police (stupid). If someone breaks into his house, who do you think he will call?

How is not standing for the national anthem going to bring positive awareness to either of those issues? The only freedom he is exercising is his freedom to be stupid.

No, i don't think so.

You confuse people who love the symbols of this country with racists. I know a man who would walk into a bank or business in a heartbeat if they were breaking US flag code. Some people just love this country and its flag. Has nothing to do with racism.

They are no longer tax-exempt. I would be okay with the NFL doing that. Make the rule so football can be football.

Nothing positive will come out of this movement. It is only bringing negative attention. If your goal is to get your country to hate you, excellent work.

Well some people are doing this just to get attention and it clearly is working. Granted in this case it is costing him money but his name is out there.
