A car was found abandoned on Route 495 in Foxboro, MA early this morning. The car had quite a bit of damage. When the police checked the license and VIN, it was determined that the car belongs to New England Patriots LB Brandon Spikes.

Earlier a couple reported that their car was rear ended and the other car took off. Neither of the occupants was injured.

This was reported on CSNNE this afternoon. The police had not spoken to Spikes at the time of the report.

I'm sure a million reports will be in the news tomorrow and every media person will have the entire story according to some unnamed Foxboro Police source.

Preliminary reports don't look good for Spikes. We all need to hold off on convicting the guy until evidence proves he did something. The good news is there doesn't appear to be major injuries. Of course that could all change if any of the "Victims" learn an NFL ($$$$$) player is involved.

If it was him, best thing for him would be to step up and take accountability.

Spikes says deer. Front end of car says car. Details to follow but I think Spikes won't be playing for New England.
He was just a trophy for Belichick anyways. Don't need him......

question being, was Spikes the driver or did one of his dumb ass friends take the car for a ride?

Let's all be really intelligent for once. If Spikes says he hit a deer, that will not be hard too prove. Anytime a motor vehicle hits any type of animal, there are always traces of fur, flesh and blood. When the police examine the car, they can tell by the damage if it was caused by an animal. Since the car was abandoned on Rt 495, Spikes would have been driving between 65 and 85 MPH. If he hit a deer at 65 it would have been able to get up and run into the woods. There'd be pieces of the deer all over the front end and the road.

If he hit another car, there'll be pieces of the other car including paint on Spike's car.

When I reported this yesterday, the official police report said that there were no injuries. The people were sent to a local hospital to be examined. I imagine that now that they know it's an NFL football player, all of them will be back at the doctors with life threatening injuries and severe pain requiring Oxycondin and Opana.

Correct.

When a car hits another car ...From a police investigation standpoint it is the easiest thing in the world to prove. They pull some paint chips, match up the damaged ends of the vehicles ..they find everything they need in a heartbeat.

Or does he have any freeloaders aka "posse" that will take the fall for him.

A deer hit at 65 mph would depend how it was hit and where it hit on the deer of whether they could get up and run off into the woods or not. Just this last year hit a deer going about 60 and the thing made it about 5 feet from where it landed before dying.

Anyway seems like the team figured out it wasn't a deer and Spikes is gone.

Hard to sell it as a deer when you abandon your Maibach after the accident. Either it was a deer and somebody was under the influence or it wasn't a deer. Of course, may not have been Spikes driving (or even in the car).

From what I have read it doesn't sound like he has denied he was ever the driver just of what he hit.

Spikes is an idiot period! Even if you are completely wasted (which he probably was) you have to be smart enough to know that a deer and a car are completely different and easily can be determined right tor wrong very easily. Do I know 100% he was driving? No, but I am leaning towards he was wasted and hit a car... Glad the Patriots released him!

Spikes contacted Onstar from his car after the accident.
