I’m just happy to see Steve Carell finding his way back to doing what he does best.
He’s gone on to get best actor nominations and star in one of the more popular family movie franchises in modern history, so... your post doesn’t really hold up.Come to think of it, Steve Carrell and maybe this goes for the rest of the The Office cast, have adopted the Seinfeld effect. They did so well as their characters, the show was so great, the actors cant be anything else.
It’s begun.

Michael Richards changed the English language post-Seinfeld. That’s success, isn’t it?Julia had a successful show, so she is over Elaine now. Jason still can't get out of George's shadow.
After only one episode I don't see staying calm as a problem.
I’m five episodes in. It definitely has its moments. Not great, but so far I’d say it’s worth sticking with for those moments. Give episode 2 a chance, it drew me back after my meh feelings with episode 1.After only one episode I don't see staying calm as a problem.
It was meh.. does it get better?
I'm through 2 episodes and it's funny enough to watch. Better than 90% of what is on the networks.I’m five episodes in. It definitely has its moments. If that one doesn’t do it for you, probably worth giving up on.
