I haven't been a fan of Carell's since he was a Daily Show reporter. Now he is kind of a Ben Stiller Light that puts himself in cringe-worthy scenarios as much as possible.

He was hilarious in the office. Anchorman wasn’t bad either. He definitely can’t carry a movie himself though. Even the office needed other talent and good writing.

he’s been nominated for best actor... Say what you will about the academy awards and all that, but you have to do better than “okay comedy actor who needs support” to get some of the recognition he has.

Award shows are bull shit. All entertainment is entirely subjective. What’s great for me could be garbage to you and visa versa. Thinking awards that are practically bought these days proves anything is laughable.
