I dont have a link other than the blog running on ESPN about the Winter Meetings but:

"Mark Trumbo is headed to the Diamondbacks as part of a three-way trade with the Angels and White Sox. Adam Eaton is headed to Chicago, Tyler Skaggs and Hector Santiago are going to Los Angeles, and Arizona will also receive two players to be named later."

If all we got was Eaton im not happy about losing Santiago...

most likely bullshit. sox don't need another outfielder and certainly have no need for a .250 light hitting one and MOST certainly would not give away a pitcher the caliber of santiago.. if i were you i'd not waste my time on this so-called blog.

i've always valued pitchers more highly than position players. for that reason i don't care for this deal too much. true that santiago hasn't proven too much yet tho his 3.40 lifetime era in a swing position is very promising, but eaton hasn't proven a thing either. look at the war ratings for each. the fact a guy can hit in the minors just does not mean he'll do it in the majors. and they don't really need another outfielder! THEY NEED A CATCHER! you wanna trade pitching then go after a proven decent catcher!

all they've done so far this off season is gamble. ridiculous money for a guy who's never faced major league pitching and now giving away a very promising lefty pitcher for a questionmark. the whole point of having apparent excess pitching is to get someone proven at a position you actually need!

the only thing that would make this not so bad was if they were planning on trading viciedo or de aza for catching. but somehow i doubt this is in the works.

I seen this earlier on cbs and it made no sense to me either....dont you guys already have de aza starting in CF? Sox have made some weird moves the last 2 yrs.....last yr signing kepplinger....

i noticed they're talking. why would they do that? isn't gillaspie looking pretty promising there? uribe is supposed to be exactly what the sox are NOT looking for. old, expensive and pretty much worn out?

I agree, it's fun when a team you like actually makes moves, especially if they've been bad, they have to shake things up.

Not sure I like the deal just yet, but if they get some decent pitching for DeAza then it works out pretty well.
