UNo....Drew didn't replace Punto...Punto was never the starting SS, he was a utility IF'er..replaced by Ciriaco....

Drew replaces Avilles from last year.

"they still could've signed every player from last year...ummmmm....except their starting SS"

lol their crappy starting SS...Punto could have been their SS...and if not, they could have signed every starting player except their awful SS...brilliant argument

Why would they sign drew with punto on the roster? You're saying they'd waste 9.5 M instead of having someone already on the roster play SS?

because Punto isn't a starting SS...he's at best a utility IF'er...which is exactly how he was used last year, and how he'd be used this year...Ciriaco can play short too...and is a better overall player at this point...his presence didn't prevent them from signing drew...

Nice to see you redefine what "every player" means to avoid admitting you're wrong though....:laugh3:

True...its like fighting with a woman...guaranteed that after he's proven wrong on the math, the first response is "so is cargo still crap away from coors and gardner is awesome?"

I may be missing something from your argument with Down but quick math looks like:

Punto and company are making 58-59 mill this year

and Drew and Co. are making 36 mill (not including Napolis bonuses which probably include another 6-8 mill)

We'd still have him...zero doubt in my mind...he'd still be here...

All this is? Is you redefining your argument as opposed to just admitting it was wrong...

and take Drews money off that 187.25 you'd be at? And they're STILL over their payroll from last year by $5m....:laugh3:

My argument was that they could have had the same payroll as last year with the guys they traded away plus all of the additions (apparently down would rather have stephen drew than ciriaco at SS)...

If punto is still there, they don't need drew...you just admitted it yourself

So now you're backtracking because I proved you wrong

If Napoli is on the active roster September 1st, his contract for this year will be worth 9.5 million. It looks like he's earning his pay anyway.

Never said anything remotely close to that.

please...cry about me changing your posts meanings again...:laugh3:

I said that Ciriaco would start over Punto...not Drew...

Put Punto on this team, Ciriaco would be in Pawtucket, and drew would still be starting.

Drew's last 7 games: .292/.373/.583 Me thinks Uno will give this up in another week or so...

Ovechkin is man possessed. He also carries the biggest stick on the ice, if anyone ever pays attention to hockey.

2012: 173m

2013: 158

2013 + the difference between the trades: 187.25

2013 + the difference between the trades minus Drew: 177.25

4.25m...sorry...

and for the 30th times...Drew would be here...and it's irrelevant when your point was "every player"....

154.5 - 13 (dumpster) - 13 (victorino) - 9.5 (drew) - 5 (napoli) = 114

114 + 21.85 (agonz) + 21.85 (crawford) + 17 (beckett) + 1.5 (punto) = 176.2

red sox payroll in 2012: 175.2
