I think his value was next to nothing at the start of the season. So the 2nd rounder reflects that improvement.
I'd be OK either way on that one I think. They still have Gus and Gil scratched. I'd like to claim corvo off waivers if they do deal Mesz though. Just to have an extra puck mover in case of injury.
I'm not a huge Joe Corvo fan but I wouldn't mind that I guess - a 2nd rounder for Mesz(depending on who trades for him) is a nice haul, 2nd round picks can be pretty useful
ya i don't love corvo either, but if they do deal mesz, it'd be nice to have him in case of injury
Yeah I imagine if they do trade Mesz, they'll have to get someone else - or maybe they could call up Ollie or someone like that? Even though their games are a little bit different
joe corvo and cory conacher both put on waivers today by ottawa.. i'd have interest in both of those guys as waiver acquisitions....
This is more along the lines of my issue with trading Mesz. The second round pick is good value for him. But, you need to go into the playoffs with at least 7 defensemen that you know can play minutes. 1 injury in the postseason would decimate your rotation otherwise. If he is traded, then someone must be signed to replace his roster spot or called up if that is right call. I know Gil has a track record of solid playoff performance, but he hasn't really played at all this year and when he has, he hasn't really looked good. He is not who I would want to rely on in playoffs.
Who do I have to sell my soul to for us to pull off the basis of a Laughton-Kane swap?
Just read that thefourthperiod.com is speculating that a package of B. Schenn, Read, a prospect and pick for kane...
Holy Piss!!! PASS!!!
Even though I like Read, that's actually still a tempting trade offer given that the prospect isn't Laughton and the pick isn't a first rounder. Patrick Kane is 6th in the Nhl in scoring. That's no fluke either. He has elite level speed and skill. Him with G would be an unstoppable combo.
He's talking about Evander, not Patrick
Yeah, well...fuck that then...lol
I'd rather trade for Byfuglien than Kane.
