I missed the majority of the game. I didn't see any of the 1st quarter. I saw most of the 2nd quaerter and when I was finally able to watch it in the 2nd half -- it was 24-7 with 2 minutes left.

Were the Lions their own worst enemy?

No. Carolina D lit them up. They had Stafford forcing the ball to Calvin early and often. They stripped Bell twice and our KR once. Calvin was held in check most of the game. The K Mayhew drafted is a bust.

Can't beat the top teams per usual.

Schwartz and the Bills 2-0 fyi.

Stafford only forced the ball to CJ a few times before the half. Dont sit there and act like it was any different. The long bomb was underthrown a little.

If you are playing a team that likes to strip the ball, you practice holding on to the football.

Our kicker sucks.

Not much else needs to be said.

Finally got to read up on the game -- 6 drops, 3 turnovers, 2 missed field goals. Different coaching staff -- Lions still finding ways to beat themselves.

At least they were only flagged 5 times for 33 yards in this game -- that isn't too bad.

What I missed is -- who had the drops? I know Calvin had one -- I saw him drop one in the end zone. Who else couldn't hold onto the ball?

CJ had two drops, Pettigrew one, Bell one, Ebron one, and I can't think of who had the other.

Game came down to turnovers and a crappy kicking game for the most part. We had 190 yards at half with 0 points 2 missed field goals and a Bell fumble in the red zone. In the second half we abandoned the run a bit became one dimensional and Stafford started forcing it. We played a shitty game, but it was much closer than the score indicated.

Well if Matt started playing Matty ball, then what kind of ball did the WRs, TEs and RBs play? Droppy ball?

Well -- it looks like I picked the right game to miss. Not much you can do when the drops were spread out to everyone.

Hopefully the coaching staff is able to finally get thru to this team and get them to protect the ball and quit beating themselves.

I can break down the game pretty exactly and succinctly in just 3 words. Same Old Lions.

Did Tate fumble AND drop a pass? Or am I confusing his drop as a catch and fumble recovered by the offense?

Yes, a fumble and a drop by Tate.

Whats funny to me is spending several days talking about Ebron and our other guys cant even get it together.

Thanks Yao. (I came in the room right after Tate fumbled I believe.)

It was definitely a team effort in playing sloppy. Offensively atleast.

You want a breakdown of the game?

Let's see- there were coverage breakdowns, ball-security breakdowns, special teams breakdowns, and a few breakdowns in Stafford's decision-making.

That should about cover the breakdowns in this one...

And 6 fucking drops by the WRs, including at least two by Megatron. That makes life tough on a QB.
